As potencialidades dos materiais não estruturados e as aprendizagens das crianças

Abstract

O presente relatório foi desenvolvido no âmbito da Prática de Ensino Supervisionada (PES), do Mestrado em Educação Pré-Escolar. A intervenção pedagógica decorreu em dois contextos, sendo que o primeiro foi em creche com crianças de dois e três anos e o segundo em jardim de infância com crianças dos quatro, cinco e seis anos. Este projeto surgiu durante as semanas de observação, onde se verificou que ambas as salas de atividades de creche e de jardim eram constituídas maioritariamente por materiais estruturados havendo assim a necessidade de introduzir materiais não estruturados. O projeto intitula-se: “A potencialidade dos materiais não estruturados e as aprendizagens das crianças”. O relatório apresenta de uma forma fundamentada e reflexiva os projetos de intervenção pedagógica que foram desenvolvidos. Ao longo das intervenções pedagógicas foram sendo introduzidos materiais não estruturados de forma a que as crianças os explorassem livremente, promovendo progressivamente aprendizagens e outras competências como a cooperação e a partilha. Este projeto teve como metodologia a investigação-ação e, desta forma, a pesquisa e a reflexão foram dois aspetos cruciais durante todo este tempo de intervenção pedagógica. Posso concluir, afirmando que a exploração dos materiais não estruturados pelas crianças foi muito significativa pois os grupos envolviam-se intensivamente nas atividades e estes materiais proporcionaram novas brincadeiras dando diversos significados aos materiais, recorrendo à imaginação e criatividade de cada criança.

The present report was developed within the scope of the Supervised Teaching Practice of the Master's in Pre-School Education. The pedagogical intervention took place in two contexts, the first a day care center with children between two and three years and the second in a kindergarten with children between four and six years. The idea for this project emerged during the weeks of observation, where it was found that both activities from the nursery and kindergarten were based mostly of structured materials, thus requiring the introduction of unstructured materials. The project is entitled: “The potential of unstructured materials and the children's learning”. This report presents, in a grounded and reflective way, the pedagogical intervention projects that were developed. Throughout the pedagogical interventions, unstructured materials were introduced so that children could explore them freely, progressively promoting learning and other skills such as cooperation and sharing. This project followed an action-research methodology and, therefore, research and reflection were two crucial aspects during the period of pedagogical intervention. I can conclude that the exploration of unstructured materials by the children was significant as both age groups were deeply involved in the activities and these materials generated new games giving different meanings to the materials, using the imagination and creativity of each child.
