Hábitos lectores y motivación lectora en adolescentes de Polonia, Chile y Portugal

Abstract

Este estudio compara los hábitos de lectura y la motivación presentes en adolescentes que actualmente cursan estudios de educación secundaria, en tres países diferentes: Polonia, Chile y Portugal, con el fin de comparar sus hábitos de lectura y su motivación. Los datos recogidos son analizados en el marco de la frecuencia, las técnicas y la motivación, entendidos como indicadores clave de los hábitos de lectura. Tal enfoque puede proporcionar información valiosa, en comparación con otras investigaciones similares que tradicionalmente se centran en si estudian a lectores frecuentes o aquellos que solo usan la lectura para tareas básicas. Los resultados revelan que los adolescentes polacos tienen mayor interés y gusto por la lectura, lo que se refleja en sus altos niveles de frecuencia lectora reportados, que los sujetos de Chile y Portugal, quienes no solo reportaron bajas frecuencias de lectura, sino que también manifiestan gran desinterés por dicha actividad.

This study compares the reading habits and motivation present in adolescents who are currently studying in secondary education, in three different countries: Poland, Chile and Portugal, in order to compare their reading habits and the motivation. The data collected are analyzed in the frame of frequency, techniques and motivation, understood as key indicators of reading habits. Such approach may provide valuable information, compared to other similar researches that traditionally focus on whether studying frequent readers or those who only use reading for basic tasks. The results reveal that polish adolescents have greater interest and taste in reading, which is reflected in their high levels of reading frequency reported, than subjects from Chile and Portugal, who not only reported low reading frequencies, but also manifest great disinterest for such activity.
