Anarqueologia do poder: uma analítica da resistência anarquista

Abstract

As discursividades anarquistas procuraram inscrever-se num espaço de absoluta exterioridade ao poder. Vulgarmente sobreposto a variações de dominação, o poder é analisado por estes discursos à luz de uma «hipótese repressiva» que cumpre abandonar. Mas este reducionismo do poder esconde o seu potencial criativo, tanto na produção de enunciados que municiam novos conjuntos discursivos, como na invenção de subjectividades políticas. A elasticidade do poder e o seu enquadramento num discurso anarquista é o problema de partida que este estudo procura resolver. No segundo capítulo, o poder será examinado a partir de uma dupla cartografia, de base foucauldiana: dos blocos de regularidades discursivas e de práticas não-discursivas de condução das condutas – as governamentalidades –, e dos fragmentos irregulares e recursivos de desgovernação que lhes são excedentários – as contra-condutas. O atrito provocado pelo cruzamento destes eixos permite reordenar o poder, através da sua inflexão enquanto tecnologia de dominação, mas também como prática que lhe resiste. Apesar de os anarquismos serem frequentemente apresentados como manifestações de resistência, revela-se como são paradoxalmente permeáveis à discursividade governamental. Ao testar-se a imunidade dos anarquismos a expressões supressivas do poder, verifica-se que esses discursos se encontram contaminados pela dominação. No terceiro capítulo, analisar-se-á a dominação epistemológica, revelada no cânone como instância de delimitação. No capítulo quatro, examina-se a forma como restos de dominação acabam por penetrar nas discursividades anarquistas hegemónicas de Mikhail Bakunin e Pyotr Kropotkin, expressos num essencialismo moral de fundamentos deterministas e naturalistas. Mas a porosidade dos anarquismos ao poder não se revela apenas na sua permeabilidade à dominação. São discursos de poder porque se expressam enquanto resistência. A reterritorialização dos anarquismos na trama do poder implica a composição de uma concepção de resistência que possa autonomizar-se das suas concorrentes no domínio da filosofia política. No último capítulo, ensaia-se uma concepção robusta de resistência anarquista, que emerge da tensão entre o problema da legitimidade, derivada do discurso jurídico, e a fetichização da violência política, reactivada pela stasiologia. O argumento final aponta para uma reconfiguração da resistência anarquista já não como uma filosofia política, mas como um ethos. A governação do sujeito por si mesmo emerge, então, como condição de possibilidade para um diagnóstico do presente anarquista.

Anarchist discourses have sought to inscribe themselves in a space fully external to the dimension of power. Commonly associated with various forms of domination, power is analyzed by these according to a «repressive hypothesis» that shows its shortcomings and must be abandoned. Yet this reduction of power to various forms of domination hides its creative potential, both in the production of statements that fuel new discursive formations and in the invention of political subjectivities. The way in which power is framed and defined within an anarchist discourse is the central problem that this study seeks to address. Starting from this premise, set out in chapter one, in the second chapter power will be examined from a double cartography, based on Foucault: the blocks of discursive regularities and non-discursive practices of conduction of conducts—the governmentalities—and the irregular and recursive fragments of non governance that are surplus to them—the counter-conducts. The friction caused by the intersection of these axes allows for the reordering of power, not only through its inflection as a technology of domination but also as a practice that resists it. Although anarchisms are often presented as manifestations of resistance, they paradoxically reveal their permeability to governmental discursivity. By testing the immunity of anarchisms to suppressive expressions of power, it is found that these discourses are contaminated by domination. In the third chapter, epistemological domination is analyzed, revealed in the canon as an instance of delimitation. In chapter four, we examine how remnants of domination end up penetrating the hegemonic anarchist discourses of Mikhail Bakunin and Pyotr Kropotkin, expressed in a moral essentialism of deterministic and naturalistic foundations. The porosity of anarchisms to power is not only revealed in their permeability to domination. They are discourses of power because they express themselves as resistance. The reterritorialization of anarchisms in the power structure implies a conception of resistance alternative to its competitors in the field of political philosophy. In the last chapter, we attempt to provide a robust conception of anarchist resistance, emerging from the tension between the problem of legitimacy, typical of legal discourse, and the fetishization of political violence, reactivated by stasiology. The final argument points towards a reconfiguration of anarchist resistance not as a political philosophy but as an ethos. The government of the self emerges as a condition of possibility for a diagnosis of the anarchist present.
