dc.description.abstract | This internship report comes from the result of the research project and pedagogical intervention carried out in the contexts of Pre-School Education and the 1st Cycle of Basic Education, within the scope of the Supervised Teaching Practice I and II, respectively, of the Master in Pre-School Education and Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education at the University of Minho. Then comes an investigation triggered by the problem-question: "How can pedagogical practices promote the development of critical and creative thinking in Basic Education?", and its pertinence listed specific objectives for the investigation: (i) reflect about the development of critical and creative thinking in basic education children; (ii) to investigate factors that encourage children's creativity and argumentation skills; (iii) analyze the contribution of pedagogical intervention to a more structured reasoning; (iv) inquire about the diversification of information sources as a factor to promote critical and creative knowledge; and (v) consider problem-solving as a differentiator for the development of critical and creative thinking. Thus, in order to improve pedagogical practice, use the action-research methodology and plan eight integrated disciplines from multiple areas of knowledge for both contexts, whose results obtained through participant observation, document analysis and inquiry conclude that children were able to build arguments to support their choices and demand imagination and creativity in their decision-making. The study also showed that continuous questioning is a powerful and viable tool for the development of critical and creative thinking, and therefore, the professional's pedagogical practices can use this instrument to improve this competence. | por |
