Mulheres, estado e sociedade: constrangimentos e possibilidades de acção

Abstract

Neste trabalho, a partir de uma revisão bibliográfica, pretendemos fazer uma análise crítica sobre as correlações que se podem estabelecer entre diversas formas políticas estatais e a (não)contemplação de determinados problemas sociais, como é o caso dos problemas com que se têm deparado as mulheres nas sociedades ocidentais. Para isso, prestamos particular atenção às formatações de base do Estado liberal, do EstadoProvidência, das perspectivas neoliberais e das concepções pós-modernas de Estado, realçando quer os seus princípios ideológicos, quer as suas limitações e fragilidades no que diz respeito a uma compreensão mais abrangente das relações assimétricas, mas nem sempre, entre Estado(s), mulheres e poder(es).

In this paper, from a bibliographic review, we want to make a critical analysis on correlations that can be established between various forms of State policies and the (not) contemplation of certain social problems, such as the problems of the women in Western societies. To do this, we give particular attention to the basic formatting of the liberal State, of the welfare State, of the neoliberal perspectives and postmodern State conceptions, highlighting its ideological principles, whether its limitations and weaknesses with regard to a broader understanding of asymmetric relations, but not always, between State (s), women and power (s).
