As Festas Nicolinas em Guimarães: propostas de valorização turístico-cultural

Abstract

O trabalho que agora apresentamos teve como objetivo aprofundar o nosso conhecimento acerca das Festas Nicolinas. Através deste trabalho, pretendemos demonstrar o potencial que as Festas Nicolinas reúnem para o setor do turismo. Da mesma forma, acreditamos que o seu valor histórico - cultural deve ser valorizado, e divulgado através de um itinerário – rota a desenvolver, dando a conhecer a história e formação dos diversos números nicolinos. Estas são também uma das festas mais marcantes da cidade, pelo que, de imediato, nos despertaram a atenção para o seu estudo. Em simultâneo, e tendo conhecimento de que as festas são parte integrante do património imaterial da cidade, o nosso interesse manifesta-se no sentido de perceber, de que forma se revela essa imaterialidade na dimensão material das festas. De outro modo, queremos também contribuir para a valorização e divulgação do Património Cultural existente na cidade. Neste sentido, o nosso trabalho teve como objetivo a interpretação das tradições nicolinas, bem como do seu legado aos Estudantes das Escolas Secundárias de Guimarães. Neste sentido, o trabalho que damos a conhecer conta-nos a história das Festas Nicolinas desde o passado até à sua expressão mais recente. Ao mesmo tempo, levamos a cabo algumas entrevistas, tendo como objetivo um aprofundamento do tema em estudo. As entrevistas permitiram conhecer um pouco melhor algumas das opiniões acerca das Festas, e muito particularmente em relação à candidatura a património imaterial.

This work that we present has the aim to deepen our knowledge about Nicolinas festivities. Through this work, we mean to show the potential that Nicolinas festivities reunite to the tourism sector. Those festivities are important in the city quotidian, in particular, in the period between 29 November and 7 of December. At the same time, we believe that their value historic and cultural should be valorized, and publicized through an itinerary –route to develop, showing the history and the formation of the different numbers. Nicolinas festivities are also a symbol of the city identity. Simultaneously, we discovered that they are considered as intangible heritage. Our interest is to understand the way how the immaterial dimension reveals in the material. On the other hand, we want to contribute to the valorization and at the same time to show the other cultural heritage in the city. Our aim is to interpret, as well, Nicolinas festivities as a legacy to all the students of Guimarães. In this extent, this work shows the history of Nicolinas festivities since the past to present. At the same time, we did many interviews. We want to find out more about the issue. The interview process allowed the possibility to know a bit better different types of perspectives around the theme in study. The interview process allowed, as well, the possibility to know the opinion around the main topic about the festivity, the candidacy to immaterial heritage.
