Mediação escolar: uma ponte para a resolução de conflitos

Abstract

O presente estudo foi elaborado no âmbito do estágio profissional que integra o 2º ano do Curso de Mestrado em Educação, área de especialização em Mediação Educacional e Supervisão na Formação. O estágio foi desenvolvido numa escola do Ensino Básico e incidiu na mediação escolar. Este relatório incide no desempenho do mediador e sua importância na escola. Ao longo de um ano letivo foram desenvolvidas algumas atividades que melhoram o comportamento de um conjunto de alunos que, na escola em que realizámos o estágio, eram tidos como “problemáticos”. Durante esse período, assistimos a mudanças de comportamento e a avanços que teriam sido difíceis de alcançar sem a ajuda do gabinete que dinamizámos, o Gabinete de Apoio ao Aluno e à Família (GAAF). Os resultados obtidos permitiram-nos constatar que, na prática, a mediação escolar desempenha um papel fundamental, sobretudo se permitir compreender o contexto e identificar que problemas existem por detrás do mau comportamento dos alunos. Muitas vezes aí reside a chave do problema. Permitiram-nos concluir, ainda, que um gabinete que pratica a mediação numa escola ajuda a prevenir e a resolver conflitos e, sobretudo, a munir a comunidade escolar de ferramentas indispensáveis para a resolução de conflitos futuros.

This study was prepared under the professional internship that integrates the 2nd year of the Master's Degree in Education, specialization in Mediation and Supervision in Training. The internship was developed in a school of Basic Education and focused on school mediation. This report focuses on the performance of the mediator and its importance in school. Over a school year, some activities were developed on a group of students at the school and improved the behavior of the ones that were considered "problematic". During this period, we have witnessed changes in behavior and the advances that have been difficult to achieve without the help of the office that we brought to life, the Gabinete de Apoio ao Aluno e à Família (GAAF). The results allowed us to conclude that, in practice, the school mediation plays a key role, especially if they allow an understanding of the context and identify problems that exist behind the bad behavior of the students. Often there lies the solution to the problem. In conclusão, a firm practicing mediation in a school helps to prevent and resolve conflicts, and especially to equip the school community are indispensable tools for resolving future conflicts.
