Estudo e proposta para intervenção na Rua de Cedofeita

Abstract

Esta investigação tem como objetivo estudar, interpretar e compreender as dinâmicas da Rua de Cedofeita e sua envolvente com o propósito final de desenvolver uma estratégia de intervenção na rua que a potencie enquanto eixo dinâmico que molda a envolvente e que responda às necessidades da zona. No inicio desta investigação sentiu-se a necessidade de compreender a influência da Rua de Cedofeita na cidade e vivências geradas por quem nela habita, estuda, trabalha ou a usufrui, num momento em que se verificam, quer na cidade quer na área de Cedofeita, alterações do seu paradigma populacional. Deste modo foi levado a cabo o estudo da evolução do traçado e da estrutura urbana de Cedofeita bem como a análise do seu estado atual. Esta, foi realizada através do levantamento dos alçados da rua, de funções e eventos (serviços, comércio, mercados urbanos, festividades locais, entre outros), do estudo dos estratos da sua malha urbana e pela realização de inquéritos à sua população. No final foi delineada uma estratégia de intervenção, não invasiva e de caráter ordenador e aglutinador, com vista a estruturar e fortalecer as dinâmicas presentes na Rua de Cedofeita, pretendendo-se, ao mesmo tempo, que esta estratégia seja flexível e extensível a outras áreas da cidade com problemáticas coincidentes.

The aim of this research is to study, interpret and understand the dynamics of "Rua de Cedofeita" and its surroundings with the final purpose of developing a strategic intervention that exploits the potential of the street as a dynamic axis that shapes its surroundings, responding, at the same time to the area's needs. In the beginning of this project there was the need to understand the influence of “Rua de Cedofeita” in the city’s context and in the life experience of those who inhabit, work and pass by the street. These particularities have been changing because of the evolution of the population’s paradigm in the city of Porto and in the Cedofeita area. So, the evolution of both the urban design and structure of Cedofeita were studied, as well as the analysis of the current state of the area through the study of the facades, urban layers and by inquiring locals. In the end, it was thought a non invasive strategy of intervention with a structural linking character in order to reinforce the dynamics of “Rua de Cedofeita”, this strategy is meant to be flexible so it can be applied in other city areas with similar problems.
