Análise contrastiva de textos especializados (documentos oficiais e textos administrativos) em português e em alemão

Abstract

O presente trabalho foi desenvolvido no âmbito do Mestrado em Tradução e Comunicação Multilingue da Universidade do Minho e mediante a realização de um estágio curricular no centro de línguas BabeliUM. Com o objetivo de identificar regularidades e divergências linguísticas entre os documentos oficiais e os textos administrativos em português e alemão, foi selecionado e analisado um corpus de textos na língua de partida e as respetivas traduções, constituído por contratos de trabalho, declarações, certificados, cartas de apresentação e candidatura, relatórios médicos, entre outros. Numa fase prévia do trabalho procedeu-se à clarificação de conceitos relacionados com a classificação de textos especializados, de modo a possibilitar esclarecimentos que conduzissem a critérios de classificação da tipologia textual sob análise. A definição e as características da Verwaltungssprache ou ‘linguagem administrativa/burocrática’ foram apresentadas no enquadramento metodológico e ilustradas com base na análise da tradução do conto paródico Rotkäppchen auf amtsdeutsch. O presente estudo baseou-se numa análise contrastiva da macro e microestrutura desta tipologia textual, o que incluiu a descrição dos aspetos morfossintáticos observados. As microfunções foram também identificadas e comparadas em alguns textos. A partir do projeto desenvolvido foi possível constatar que a macroestrutura, as respetivas microfunções e o registo formal identificados nos documentos oficiais e textos administrativos não divergem significativamente entre ambas as línguas. Relativamente à sua microestrutura verificou-se o acentuado recurso à voz passiva, a formas infinitivas impessoais, a orações condicionais e finais e a adjetivos e particípios atributivos em ambas as línguas. As frases utilizadas são do tipo declarativo e os tempos verbais mais recorrentes correspondem a formas do Presente do Indicativo. Dos aspetos divergentes entre as duas línguas salienta-se o uso frequente de construções de genitivo e de palavras compostas na língua alemã e de estruturas sintáticas fixas em cada uma das línguas. Apesar de o processo de nominalização ser típico da linguagem especializada alemã, este trabalho demonstrou que o português também recorre a este processo, embora de forma mais ténue, essencialmente pelo uso das formas nominais do verbo ou de substantivos deverbais. Mediante os padrões identificados neste estudo, o tradutor poderá adaptar a sua tradução e não incorrer no risco de uma tradução literal que possa contrariar aspetos micro e macroestruturais desta tipologia textual na língua de chegada.

The present study falls within the scope of the Masters in Translation and Multilingual Communication of the Universidade do Minho and by means of the accomplishment of a curricular training in the BabeliUM center of languages. With the aim of identifying linguistic regularities and differences between the official documents and the administrative texts in Portuguese and German, a corpus of texts in the source language and their respective translations were selected and analyzed. This corpus consisted of declarations, employment contracts, certificates, application and covering letters, medical reports, among others In a previous phase of this study the clarification of concepts related with the classification of specialized texts was undertaken, in order to identify the criteria leading to the classification of the text typology under analysis. The definition and the characteristics of Verwaltungssprache or ‘bureaucratic/administrative language’ were presented and illustrated on the basis of the translation analysis of the German fairy tale parody Rotkäppchen auf amtsdeutsch. This study was based on a contrastive analysis of the macro and microstructure of this text typology. The description of the identified morphosyntactic aspects were included in this analysis. The microfunctions were also recognized and compared in some of the texts. The development of this project led us to evidence that the macrostructure, the respetive microfunctions and the formal register identified in the official documents and administrative texts do not differ significantly in both languages. Concerning the microstructure of the texts selected for analysis, the passive voice, impersonal infinitive forms, conditional and final clauses and atributive adjectives and past participles were often used in both languages. Declarative sentences are the most common type of sentences and the most recurrent verb tense is the Present Simple. The different aspects that can be emphasized between both languages are the frequent use of the genitive constructions and compound words in German and the use of fixed syntactic structures in each one of the languages. Although nominalization is a typical process of the German specialized language, this dissertation proved that the Portuguese language also uses it in a more subtle way, especially through the use of the nominal forms of the verb or deverbal nouns. By means of the standards identified in this study, the translator will be able to adapt the translation, thus avoiding the risk of a literal translation that can oppose micro- and macrostructural aspects of this text typology in the target language.
