A horta: entre o plantar e o semear: um contributo para a Educação Ambiental em idade pré-escolar

Abstract

Este relatório apresenta o projeto de intervenção pedagógica que foi implementado nos contextos de creche e jardim de infância no âmbito da Unidade Curricular Prática de Ensino Supervisionada. Esta Unidade Curricular está inserida no 2º semestre do Mestrado em Educação Pré-Escolar, da Universidade do Minho. O projeto de intervenção foi ao encontro dos interesses das crianças e centrou-se na temática da horta, contribuindo para um maior conhecimento do mundo e privilegiando uma aprendizagem ativa. Esta temática, muito ligada ao meio ambiente, permitiu a exploração da terra e de plantas e sementes, entre outras atividades muito importantes e significativas para as crianças. O contacto com plantas pode ajudar as crianças desta faixa etária a entender a importância da natureza, estabelecendo relações entre o meio ambiente e suas formas de vida, contribuindo para desenvolver atitudes de respeito e de preservação. O trabalho desenvolvido contribuiu para aprofundar e consolidar conhecimentos sobre a importância de proporcionar aprendizagens pela ação, da observação e escuta das crianças durante este processo. De referir que o trabalho apresentado teve como referencial pedagógico o Modelo High- Scope e a Metodologia de Trabalho de Projeto.

This report presents a pedagogical intervention project which was implemented in the contexts of day care and kindergarten within of the Curricular Unit Supervised Teaching Practice. This Curricular Unit is included in the 2nd semester of the Masters in Preschool Education, University of Minho. The intervention project was in the interests of children and focused on the theme of the kitchen garden, contributing to a greater knowledge of the world and emphasizing active learning. This thematic, very much linked to the environment, enabled the exploitation of the land and plants and seeds, among other very important and meaningful activities for children. Contact with plants can help children of this age group understand the importance of nature, establishing relationships between the environment and ways of life, contributing to develop attitudes of respect and preservation. The work developed contributed to deepen knowledge about the importance of providing learning by action, observation and careful listening of the children throughout the process. To mention that the work presented had as pedagogical reference the High-Scope Model and Methodology Project Work.
