O calão no português europeu: tendências e utilizações

Abstract

São várias as línguas do mundo que possuem vocabulário calão. Longe de ser uma invenção dos tempos modernos, o calão continua a ser um assunto polémico e difícil de tratar mas não pode ser ignorado pelos Estudos da Linguagem. Assunto tabu por natureza e objeto de estudo da Sociolinguística, o calão faz parte do dia a dia da língua e dos sujeitos falantes. O presente trabalho procurará perceber quais os principais conceitos que se encontram associados à noção de calão e, através das redes sociais e da comunicação social, procurará analisar de que forma alguns termos do calão surgem representados na escrita. Por se acreditar haver, em Português, uma aceitação cada vez maior da utilização do calão na linguagem quotidiana, serão também objeto de análise duas obras de autores contemporâneos portugueses que contêm termos ou expressões de calão, assim como avaliar a relevância de introduzir o calão, enquanto registo linguístico, no ensino de Português Língua Não Materna, através de textos autênticos. Para tal, será fulcral a análise dos dados resultantes de um inquérito distribuído tanto a alunos nativos, como a alunos estrangeiros aprendentes de Português.

There are various the languages of the world that have slang vocabulary. Far from being an invention of modern times, slang remains a controversial subject and difficult to address but cannot be ignored by Language Studies. Taboo subject by nature and Sociolinguistics study object, slang is part of everyday language and speaking subjects. This study will seek to understand what are the main concepts that are associated with the notion of slang and, through social networks and media, seek to examine how some slang terms appear represented in writing. By believing there is, in Portuguese, a growing acceptance of the use of slang in everyday language, there will also be analyzed two books of contemporary Portuguese authors that contain terms or expressions of slang, and assess the relevance of introducing slang, as a linguistic register, in the teaching of Portuguese as a foreign language through authentic texts. To achieve this, it will be crucial to analyze data from a survey distributed to both native and foreign students as learners of Portuguese.
