Abstract

No nosso quotidiano, deparamo-nos frequentemente com as mais variadas definições de calor e temperatura. Assim, e talvez devido a essa tão grande participação nas nossas vidas, a Termodinâmica é, com certeza, o campo em que o senso comum, traduzido na linguagem do dia-a-dia, exerce maior influência nas ideias que os alunos possuem sobre os conceitos de calor e temperatura. Neste Relatório de Atividade Profissional, é apresentado primeiramente um enquadramento científico sobre o tema “Calor e Temperatura”, bem como a sua integração nas metas curriculares para o terceiro ciclo do ensino básico. Adicionalmente, são apresentados dois estudos realizados pela docente com o objetivo de identificar como as conceções alternativas por parte dos alunos podem interferir com a aprendizagem formal destes conceitos. O primeiro estudo versou avaliar a existência de conceções alternativas nos manuais escolares, de Ciências Físico-Químicas, existentes em 2003/2004. Por seu lado, o segundo estudo avaliou objetivamente as conceções alternativas que um grupo de 49 alunos possuíam sobre os conceitos “Calor e Temperatura” num momento inicial. Além disso, e considerando uma perspetiva científica e pedagógica, procedeu-se a uma avaliação de como as atividades laboratoriais podem constituir um meio adequado para criar conflitos cognitivos nos estudantes de forma a que ocorra mudança conceptual das conceções prévias para conceções construídas cientificamente, sendo que os mesmos alunos foram avaliados num segundo momento. Finalmente, as atividades e projetos desenvolvidos pela docente são apresentadas no último capítulo deste relatório, bem como uma reflexão pessoal sobre a contribuição destas atividades para a sua valorização e capacitação profissional.

In our daily lives, we are often surrounded by the most varied definitions of heat and temperature. Considering this participation in our lives, the Thermodynamics is the field in which the common sense, translated in our everyday language, exerts a greater influence on the default ideas of the students regarding the concepts of heat and temperature. In this Professional Activity Report, we first provide a scientific framework on the theme "Heat and Temperature" as well as its integration in the curricular guidelines for the third cycle of the basic education. Additionally, two studies were carried out by the author of this report that aims to identify how alternative conceptions that the students have may interfere with the formal learning of these concepts. Therefore, the first study was designed to identify the alternative concepts in the formal textbooks of Physical and Chemical Sciences available in 2003/2004. The second study evaluated the alternative conceptions in a group of 49 students on the "Heat and Temperature" concepts before its learning, furthermore, and considering both a scientific and pedagogical approach, the assessment of laboratory activities as a way to promote learning by creating cognitive conflicts was assessed in the same students after its learning. Finally, the activities and projects developed by the author are described in the last chapter of this report, as well as a personal consideration regarding the contribution of these accomplishments to her valorization and professional capacitation.
