e Ana Paula Pereira, Universidade do Minho, 2017. Os dados foram apresentados e analisados
quantitativamente.
The purpose of this research is to know and analyze the attitudes of children with typical development, aged between four and five years, regarding the acceptance of their peers with special educational needs (SEN), included in the public pre-school network in the scholar grouping of Braga’s county. The sample of this study is 373 children aged between four and five years, in five grouping of the Braga’s county. The data collection instrument used in this study was the Acceptance Scale for Kindergarten (ASK-R) scale, adapted by Favazza and Odom, in 1996, translated by Sara Rodrigues and Ana Paula Pereira, University of Minho, 2017. The data were presented and analyzed quantitatively. With this work, it is concluded that: 1) children showed positive attitudes and inclusion to peers with SEN; 2) the gender variable did not obtain significant results in any of the dimensions, nor in the total of the scale, allowing to affirm that there is no gender interference in the acceptance attitudes toward children with SEN; 3) in the variable age, there are significant differences in three dimensions and in the total, concluding that in general the attitudes of acceptance are more pronounced on the part of the children of five years, that is, are the older ones that exhibit greater acceptance and attitudes of inclusion by difference; 4) regarding the variable presence of students with special educational needs in the classroom, we can conclude that 39.4% of the children have colleagues with SEN in the class, and these are the children who present more positive attitudes of acceptance regarding the pairs with SEN; 5) the scale presented an acceptable Alpha Cronbach’s Coefficient of 0.70, which made it possible to show that the scale is reliable for this sample; 6) the scale total showed a significant and positive correlation with two of the dimensions (affective aspects and relational aspects); 7) the attitudes manifested by the children can be explained in 15.3% by the three variables (gender, age and presence of SEN in the classes), which indicates that 84.7% of the variation is explained by other variables that will have influence in children's attitudes, such as educational issues, attitudes of parents and educators, among others, that can be explored in a future study. With this work we increase the knowledge on this theme, with the possibility of promoting a change of inclusive practices in kindergarten. |
