As origens desta estrutura remontam à Idade do Bronze (c. 3000 a.C. - 1000 a.C.), quer
paredes.
«Kenotaphion Daedalus»
um projecto distópico que sobrevive como ideia,
passível de ser carregado numa moeda. “Daedalus: anthropomon of the Cretan Labyrinth’s creator” “Cenotaph: a tomb or a sepulchral monument erected in honor of a person whose remains are elsewhere.” «Cenotaph for Daedalus: an Atlas in the construction of a Dystopian Project» begins with a fascination with the archetype of architectural power - the Labyrinth - and its creator - Daedalus. The origins of this structure date back to the Bronze Age (c. 3000 BC - 1000 BC), both in its iconography as a symbol (from Mogor petroglyphs to Babylonian clay tablets) and the very origin of its creator’s mythological cycle (that refers to the Minoan civilization). The first two entropic sources from which the research will drink are therefore ideintified: the imagery of Daedalus and the labyrinth, and their mythological origins. That is, Representation and Idea. Since the different subjects dealt have a temporal range as diverse as uncertain, they were brought together on an anachronistic table. In this way, an Atlas develops from the very same memory traces of the creation of the Cenotaph. This Atlas, constituted by 117 images arranged in five distinct planks, conforms the space of thought in which Cenotaph survives. A Utopian project which, in the face of an architectural tradition accentuated in the materialization of form - either as a constructed environment or as a projection of a palpable fiction - reveals itself formally dystopic. The remaining elements of the present thesis - LÓGOS and PATHOS - function as keys for the reading and understanding of the web of affinities that compose this sepulchral monument without walls. «Kenotaphion Daedalus» a dystopian project that survives as an idea, capable of being carried on a coin. |
