No instituto
pesquisado realizasse o curso normalmente.
This thesis aims to study the impact of learning styles once addressed in distance learning courses. For this, the research aims to the development of a course that is adapted to a Virtual Learning Environment and that is able to adapt to the individual learning styles, thus helping in the construction of knowledge of the individuals that work in the distance learning. It was intended to verify how this alliance was able to provide an environment favorable to the sharing and construction of knowledge. Therefore, an environment about the problem investigated and justification was explained, as well as the scope of the research in the area of systems and education and theoretical reference that addressed, among other pertinent subjects, the theories about learning styles, Learning Objects, Learning Virtual Environments and didactic material for distance learning. A contextualization about the field of study was also carried out, in this case, distance education at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Norte, a public institution of basic education, technical and technological located in Brazil. The institute developed the case study where the research collected the data for analysis. The project "IFRN at school: collaborative actions with public schools of the RN" was approved by means of a public internal public notice and, as one of the stages of this project, the Course on Didactic Material in the distance modality for two groups of students. One of the course offerings was designed with the development of Learning Objects adapted to the theory of learning styles for further observation if, in fact, the personalized work would bring positive results. Students were aware of the research, agreed to participate for academic purposes, but did not know in which class they would be enrolled. The course was offered using the Moodle platform, where each student, in the system profile, completed the learning style analysis tool on the first day so that Moodle could recognize and adapt the Learning Objects according to each individual style and the student to take the course normally. With the analysis of the data, it was observed that all the students finished the course successfully, however, it was noticed that the average of the group that was with the adapted environment was 13,78% superior in comparison to the group that realized the course in the environment that was not adapted to the theory. In addition, the class with a personalized environment also stood out in terms of interaction with the virtual environment with more access than the classroom without the adapted environment, in the order of 49.53% higher. However, this differentiation is not very noticeable in the view of the students studied, since, in applying the course evaluation instrument with the students, the results were positively similar in many respects. Therefore, one conclusion of this research is that the learning styles can be, yes, a viable option for employment in collective learning environments. In addition, it may be interesting, and it is proposed, the work with the teacher and the entire multidisciplinary team from the design and development of the didactic materials, stimulating the training and sharing of the developed materials that contemplate the learning styles for appreciation and development of the academic community involved, as well as other future research works that can be deployed with the results achieved in this thesis. |
