Efeitos econômicos da plataforma Airbnb: um estudo bibliométrico

Abstract

A economia global sofreu interferências de maneira inevitável com o surgimento das plataformas peer-to-peer, comumente conhecidas como plataformas de economia compartilhada, cuja ideia de consumo é focada na utilização colaborativa de serviços e bens, e não na sua posse. Uma das plataformas inseridas nesta tendência é a Airbnb, criada em 2008 e presente em escala global, que se revela como uma solução alternativa à hospedagem turística e laboral convencional, e caracteriza-se pelo compartilhamento de moradias como alojamentos locais. Os efeitos econômicos causados pela plataforma em um contexto de economia de compartilhamento vêm tomando grandes proporções na literatura científica. O objetivo desta pesquisa, além de verificar o grau de análise dos impactos e fundamentos econômicos da plataforma, é identificar as tendências investigativas sobre os efeitos econômicos da Airbnb. Através da análise bibliométrica, caracteriza-se a literatura de acordo com o seu desempenho, servindo inclusive como apoio a novas pesquisas na área. Percebe-se que, de maneira geral, os estudos voltam-se especialmente para os efeitos causados pela ausência de regulamentação dos serviços prestados pela Airbnb, sendo a indústria de hospedagem a principal impactada. Outras variáveis econômicas exaltam, por exemplo, os efeitos urbanísticos nos locais em que a plataforma está presente e a negligência em termos fiscais. Esta pesquisa preenche uma lacuna na literatura em relação à sumarização de publicações relacionadas à Airbnb no âmbito de economia de compartilhamento, servindo de base para novas direções investigativas.

The global economy was inevitably interfered with by the emergence of peer-to-peer platforms, commonly known as shared economy platforms, whose idea of consumption is focused on the collaborative use of services and goods, and not on their possession. One of the platforms inserted in this trend is Airbnb, created in 2008 and present on a global scale, which presents itself as an alternative solution to conventional tourist and work accommodation, and is characterized by the sharing of houses as local accommodations. The economic effects caused by the platform in a context of sharing economy have been taking great proportions in the scientific literature. The purpose of this research, in addition to verifying the degree of analysis of the impacts and economic fundamentals of the platform, is to identify the investigative trends on the economic effects of Airbnb. Through bibliometric analysis, literature is characterized according to its performance, even serving as support for new research in the field. It is noticed that, in general, the studies are especially focused on the effects caused by the lack of regulation of the services provided by Airbnb, with the hospitality industry being the main impacted. Other economic variables highlight, for example, the urban effects in places where the platform is present, and the neglect in fiscal terms. This research fills a gap in the literature in relation to the summary of publications pertaining to Airbnb in the scope of sharing economy, serving as a basis for new investigative directions.
