A cocriação na mediação intercultural: o papel do mediador

Abstract

O presente trabalho resulta de um projeto de investigação-intervenção realizado no âmbito do estágio curricular de nível profissionalizante do 2º ano do Mestrado em Educação, área de especialização em Mediação Educacional, que visa compreender qual é o impacto da mediação intercultural como estratégia de intervenção para a inclusão da comunidade migrante e no desenvolvimento pessoal e profissional da estagiária mediadora. O projeto, baseado na investigação-ação, visou responder às seguintes questões de investigação e intervenção: i) quais são as caraterísticas do processo de criação de um espaço de diálogo e acolhimento para a comunidade migrante?; ii) qual é o impacto da mediação intercultural como estratégia de intervenção para a inclusão de um grupo da comunidade migrante?; iii) como evolui o meu desenvolvimento pessoal e profissional ao longo do estágio? Metodologicamente, criou-se um espaço de diálogo e acolhimento para a comunidade migrante em dois contextos. O primeiro contexto refere-se a um espaço físico da instituição de acolhimento, que se revelou inadequado para a concretização do espaço de diálogo e acolhimento para a comunidade migrante. Durante a tentativa de criação deste espaço houve uma interação da autora deste relatório com 8 migrantes e 13 profissionais, que contribuíram para o aprofundamento do diagnóstico de necessidades do projeto que foi desenvolvido na segunda fase do estágio. O espaço de diálogo e acolhimento foi implementado num outro espaço físico de uma entidade parceira que se mostrou interessada pela criação desse espaço. Desta parceria estabelecida surgiu o projeto “Potencialidades da cocriação na mediação intercultural”, que tem como propósito ilustrar em que consiste o espaço de diálogo e acolhimento para a comunidade migrante e quais os impactos deste espaço para os migrantes residentes na cidade de acolhimento. Participaram neste projeto 5 migrantes, provenientes da Índia e de Marrocos, com idades compreendidas entre os 26 e os 33 anos. Devido à pandemia provocada pelo covid-19 o projeto esteve suspenso 2 meses e quando se retomou um dos participantes já não se encontrava na entidade parceira e, por isso, o grupo prosseguiu com 4 participantes. Os resultados obtidos revelam que o espaço de diálogo e acolhimento é uma estratégia importante para a inclusão dos migrantes, assim como possibilita conhecer outras particularidades que estes enfrentam, nomeadamente os problemas que dificultam a sua efetiva inclusão. Também evidenciam que este tipo de espaços que promovem a escuta ativa, a revalorização e o reconhecimento potenciam o empoderamento dos migrantes.

The present work is the result of a research-intervention project carried out in the framework of the professional level curricular internship of the 2nd year of the Master in Education, area of specialization in Educational Mediation, which aims to understand the impact of intercultural mediation as an intervention strategy for the inclusion of the migrant community and on the personal and professional development of the trainee mediator. The project, based on research-action, aimed at answering the following questions of research and intervention: i) what are the characteristics of the process of creating an area of dialogue and reception for the migrant community?; ii) what is the impact of intercultural mediation as an intervention strategy for the inclusion of a migrant community group?; iii) how does my personal and professional development evolve throughout my internship? Methodologically, a space for dialogue and welcome for the migrant community has been created in two contexts. The first context refers to a physical space in the host institution, which has proved to be inadequate for the realization of the space of dialogue and reception for the migrant community. During the attempt to create this space there was the interaction of the author of this report with 8 migrants and 13 professionals, who contributed to the deepening of the diagnosis of the needs of the project that was developed in the second stage of the internship. Thus, the space of dialogue and reception was implemented in another physical space of a partner entity that was interested in the creation of this space. From this established partnership came the project "Potentialities of co-creation in intercultural mediation" which is intended to illustrate what is the space for dialogue and hospitality for the migrant community and what is the impact of this space for migrants living in the host city. Five migrants from India and Morocco, aged between 26 and 33, took part in this project. Due to the pandemic caused by covid-19, the project was suspended for 2 months and when one of the participants resumed, it was no longer in the partner entity and, therefore, the group continued with 4 participants. The results show that the space for dialogue and reception is an important strategy for the inclusion of migrants, as well as making it possible to know other particularities that they face, namely the problems that hinder their effective inclusion. They also show that These kinds of spaces that promote active listening, revaluation and recognition enhance the empowerment of migrants.
