A Aprendizagem Cooperativa no Processo de Ensino e de Aprendizagem do Estudo do Meio e das Ciências Naturais

Abstract

A sociedade dos dias de hoje defende uma Escola que favoreça a formação académica do aluno ao mesmo tempo que, promove o desenvolvimento de competências sociais, imprescindíveis no exercício pleno da sua cidadania. Consequentemente, são necessárias práticas educativas que permitam aos alunos desenvolver ambas. A aprendizagem cooperativa baseia-se na divisão da turma em grupos heterogéneos, nos quais os alunos desenvolvem tarefas em conjunto, atuando como parceiros de aprendizagem, entre si e com o professor. Como metodologia de ensino, assegura o papel ativo do aluno na construção do seu conhecimento e produz melhorias significativas tanto a nível cognitivo como a nível não cognitivo, visíveis nas competências atitudinais, independentemente do contexto educativo e/ou do nível de ensino. O Projeto de Intervenção Pedagógica pretendeu avaliar a influência da aprendizagem cooperativa no 1.º e 2.º Ciclos do Ensino Básico, especificamente no ensino do Estudo do Meio e das Ciências Naturais. Desse modo, optou-se por uma metodologia com características de investigação-ação, de natureza qualitativa. Como instrumentos de recolha de dados, destacam-se: a observação; os questionários; a Escala de Benefícios da Aprendizagem Cooperativa; e, as fichas de trabalho. A avaliação do Projeto de Intervenção Pedagógica evidenciou significativas melhorias em relação ao processo de ensino e de aprendizagem visíveis no aumento do rendimento escolar assim como, no desenvolvimento e/ou aquisição de competências sociais.

Today's society defends a School that favors the student's academic training while promoting the development of social skills, essential for the full exercise of their citizenship. Consequently, educational practices are needed that allow students to develop both. Cooperative learning is based on dividing the class into heterogeneous groups, in which students develop tasks together, acting as learning partners, with each other and with the teacher. As a teaching methodology, it ensures the active role of the student in the construction of their knowledge and produces significant improvements both at a cognitive and non-cognitive level, visible in attitudinal skills, regardless of the educational context and/or level of teaching. The Pedagogical Intervention Project intended to assess the influence of cooperative learning in the 1st and 2nd Cycles of Basic Education, specifically in the teaching of Environmental Studies and Natural Sciences. Thus, we opted for a methodology with research-action characteristics, of a qualitative nature. As data collection instruments, the following stand out: observation; the questionnaires; the Cooperative Learning Benefits Scale; and, the worksheets. The evaluation of the Pedagogical Intervention Project showed significant improvements in relation to the teaching and learning process, visible in the increase in school performance as well as in the development and/or acquisition of social skills.
