Educação literária, valores e promoção do gosto pela leitura no 1º e 2º ciclo do ensino básico: um estudo de caso

Abstract

Este é um relatório reflexivo de intervenção pedagógica desenvolvido no âmbito da Unidade Curricular Prática de Ensino Supervisionada do Mestrado em Ensino do 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico e de Português e História e Geografia de Portugal do 2º Ciclo do Ensino Básico do Instituto de Educação da Universidade do Minho. Este descreve um projeto desenvolvido numa turma de 4º ano de escolaridade, de uma escola de 1º ciclo em Guimarães e centra-se no tema educação literária, tendo como foco primordial o desenvolvimento do gosto pela leitura. O projeto emergiu das observações vivenciadas e das necessidades decorrentes nesse contexto, nomeadamente no que a valores1, alteridade2 e cidadania3 diz respeito, em estreita confluência com a concetualização acerca de educação literária. Neste quadro procurou-se compreender a influência dos livros e da leitura na vida das crianças, mais especificamente o significado que estas atribuem ao ato de ler. Para esse efeito, assumindo a metodologia de investigação-ação como estratégia, desenvolveram-se atividades de pré-leitura, durante a leitura, pós-leitura, atividades de escrita e elaboração de um livroacordeão. Nesta linha, foram realizados inquéritos (inicial e final) por forma a averiguar os hábitos, interesses e opiniões dos alunos face à temática e a confrontar os resultados desta intervenção. Os resultados obtidos mostram que a concretização deste projeto possibilitou aos alunos uma pluralidade de vivências e experiências, contribuindo para a construção de conhecimento e um maior interesse pelos livros e pela leitura.

This is a reflective report of the pedagogical intervention developed within the scope of Practical Curricular Unit of Supervised Teaching on the Master’s Degree in Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education and Portugal’s History and Geography of the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education of the Education’s Institute on Minho’s University. It describes a project developed in a 4th grade class, at a 1st cycle school in Guimarães and it is centered on the subject of literary education, having as primary focus the development of the taste for reading. The project emerged from the experienced observations and the needs resultant from that context, particularly in what concerns to values4, otherness5 and citizenship6, in close confluence with the conceptualization about literary education. In this context, we sought to understand the influence of books and literature on children’s/students’ life, more specifically the meaning that these ones attribute to the act of reading. For this purpose, assuming the investigation-action methodology as strategy, pre-reading, during reading and post-reading activities were developed, as well as writing activities and making an accordion book. Following this, surveys (initial and final) were carried out in order to ascertain the students’ habits, interests and opinions concerning the theme and to compare the results of this intervention. The obtained results show that the fulfilment of this project enabled students a multiplicity of experiences, contributing to the construction of knowledge and a greater interest in books and reading.
