O uso do GeoGebra na aprendizagem de figuras geométricas com alunos do 7º ano de escolaridade

Abstract

O estudo realizado neste relatório tem como objetivo analisar qual o contributo do GeoGebra na aprendizagem de figuras geométricas no 7.º ano de escolaridade. Desta forma, foram formuladas três questões de investigação: 1. Que potencialidades e dificuldades revelam os alunos do 7.º ano na aprendizagem de figuras geométricas?; 2. Como o GeoGebra contribui para os alunos do 7.º ano ultrapassarem as dificuldades na aprendizagem de figuras geométricas?; 3. Que perceções têm os alunos do 7.º ano sobre o contributo do GeoGebra na aprendizagem de figuras geométricas?. De forma a responder a estas questões a recolha de dados foi realizada através da gravação das aulas, de um questionário e da recolha das produções dos alunos. Os softwares de geometria dinâmica, em particular o GeoGebra, permitem construir e manipular as figuras geométricas, com base nas suas características e ainda a construção de tarefas que promovem a motivação e a autonomia dos alunos. Além disso, permitem testar e provar as suas conjeturas, a análise de propriedades das figuras geométricas e também desenvolver a comunicação matemática através das discussões criadas na sala de aula. Por conseguinte, neste estudo, inicialmente, pretende-se analisar as potencialidades e as dificuldades dos alunos na aprendizagem de figuras geométricas, de seguida analisar o contributo do GeoGebra na ultrapassem das dificuldades dos alunos e por fim analisar as suas opiniões sobre o contributo do GeoGebra na aprendizagem de figuras geométricas. Os resultados deste estudo mostram que os alunos nunca tinham utilizado o GeoGebra, antes da intervenção pedagógica, mas gostaram de o utilizar na aprendizagem dos conteúdos da geometria. E ainda, que este software de geometria dinâmica é um fator motivador na aprendizagem de figuras geométricas contribuindo para os alunos ultrapassarem as suas dificuldades relacionadas com este conteúdo. Por conseguinte, os alunos apontam diversas vantagens à utilização do GeoGebra, tais como, aumentar a vontade de estudar, de participar e a motivação na aprendizagem dos conteúdos sobre figuras geométricas e melhorar o raciocínio e o desempenho. Além disso, os alunos também apontam duas desvantagens à utilização do GeoGebra que são o aumento da distração e a necessidades de terem acesso dispositivos móveis na sala de aula.

The study carried out in this report aims to analyze the contribution of GeoGebra in the learning of geometric figures in the 7th year of schooling. Thus, three research questions were formulated: 1. Which potentialities and difficulties do 7th grade students reveal in the learning of geometric figures?; 2. How does GeoGebra help 7th graders overcome difficulties in learning geometric figures?; 3. Which perceptions 7 th grade students have about the contribution of GeoGebra in the learning of geometric figures?. In order to answer these questions, the data collection was carried out through the recording of classes, a questionnaire and the collection of students productions. The software of dynamic geometry, in particular GeoGebra, allows to build and manipulate the geometric figures, based on their characteristics and also the construction of tasks that promote the motivation and autonomy of the students. Besides that, they allow you to test and prove their conjectures, to analyze the properties of geometric figures and also to develop mathematical communication through discussions created in the classroom. Therefore, it is intended to initially analyze the potencialities and difficulties of students in the learning of geometric figures, then analyze the contribution of GeoGebra in overcoming students’ difficulties and finally analyze their opinions on the contribution of GeoGebra in the learning of geometric figures. The results of this study show that the students had never used GeoGebra before the pedagogical intervention, but they liked to use it in learning the contents of geometry. And also, that this dynamic geometry software is a motivating factor in the learning of geometric figures contributing to students overcome their difficulties related to this content. Consequently, the students point out several advantages to the use of GeoGebra, such as, increase the willingness to study, to participate and the motivation in the learning of contents about geometric figures and improve reasoning and performance. In addition, students also point out two disadvantages to the use of GeoGebra which are the increased of distraction and the need to have mobile devices access in the classroom.
