Subjective well-being is composed by the cognitive and affective dimension and one of its concerns the evaluation that the person makes about his own life (Diener, 1996). This is bidirectionally associated with health conditions that have been defined as reference to the COVID-19 pandemic (Steptoe et al., 2015). To deal with sources of stress like this, it is important that the individual has coping mechanisms. This term is what determines the different strategies that the individual uses in the stressful contexts of his life (Folkman & Lazarus, 1984). Positively related and associated with the cognitive component of subjective well-being (life satisfaction) we have satisfaction with social support, which is seen as an essential resource for dealing with stressful situations, this being seen as a promoter of subjective well-being (Cohen et al., 2000). No differences were found in subjective well-being between people who were infected with COVID-19 and those who were not. Related analysis have been made that important social support is positively related to subjective well-being (Okun et al., 1984). A moderating relationship of a coping strategy was found between subjective well-being and social support. |
