Tipos de maus-tratos e rendimento acadêmico: uma revisão sistemática de literatura

Abstract

Pretende-se, com o presente projecto, explorar a relação entre tipos de maus-tratos e rendimento acadêmico. De acordo com a literatura, os maus-tratos podem associar-se a baixo rendimento acadêmico, educação especial, evasão escolar, envolvimento criminal, reclusão e falta de moradia. Porém, os resultados das investigações continuam a revelar alguma inconsistência quanto as relações dos diferentes tipos de maus-tratos com o rendimento acadêmico, que se pretende explorar através de uma revisão sistemática da literatura, selecionando artigos disponíveis em bases de dados eletrônicas. O processo de busca basear se-á no modelo PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and MetaAnalyses) a partir de critérios específicos de inclusão e exclusão. Posteriormente, serão identificados os estudos pré-selecionados. De seguida, realizar-se-á um exame sequencial dos títulos, resumos e palavras-chave, de modo a selecionar os que cumprem os critérios de elegibilidade inicialmente estabelecidos. Por fim, os estudos serão analisados detalhadamente, mediante leitura do texto completo. Este projeto poderá contribuir para a reflexão dos professores acerca de sua prática profissional e do rendimento acadêmico de seus alunos vítimas de maus-tratos, e para desenvolverem uma maior compreensão relativamente a esta problemática.

This project aims to explore the relationship between types of abuse and academic performance. According to the literature, maltreatment can be associated with low academic performance, special education, absenteeism, criminal involvement, confinement, and homelessness. However, the results of the investigations continue to reveal some inconsistency regarding the relationship between different types of maltreatment and academic performance, which is intended to be explored through a systematic literature review, selecting articles available in electronic databases. The search process will be based on the PRISMA model (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and MetaAnalyses) according to specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. Subsequently, a sequential examination of the titles, abstracts, and keywords will be performed in order to select those that meet the eligibility criteria initially established. Finally, the studies will be analyzed in detail by reading the full text. Then, this project may contribute to the reflection of teachers about their professional practice and the academic performance of their students who are victims of maltreatment and to develop a better understanding of this problem.
