dc.description.abstract | The COVID-19 pandemic has transformed the work environment significantly and several organizations have started to adopt teleworking as a permanent working model. This transition has brought several challenges associated with work-family balance. This study aimed to analyze the impact of telework and its characteristics on the work-family interface, namely at the level of work-family conflict and work-family enrichment. Through an online questionnaire, 236 people in telework participated in this study, mostly from the Information Technology sector. The results showed that most participants had never teleworked before the pandemic. There were no differences in work-family conflict and enrichment for the different telework types. Marital status, the existence of children and an isolated space at home to work were relevant variables to explain the perceived conflict. Worker autonomy showed a significant correlation with work-family enrichment. Telework appears to offer greater flexibility for employees to manage their professional and personal tasks. The results contribute to increasing the knowledge and enable the development of strategies and good practices in organizations based on the challenges and needs of workers and their families. | por |
