A formação musical do educador de infância nos cursos superiores portugueses na atualidade

Abstract

O papel do educador de infância na orientação das atividades educativas com as crianças é fulcral. A sua formação profissional e pedagógica influencia a forma como lida com as diferentes áreas e conteúdos de aprendizagem. Em Portugal, a Reforma de Veiga Simão (1973) impulsionou a formação dos educadores de infância e professores dos diferentes níveis de ensino, reorganizando os planos de estudos dos respetivos cursos. Atualmente existem trinta cursos de Licenciatura em Educação Básica em Portugal que permitem o ingresso nos Mestrados em Educação Pré-Escolar e em Educação Pré-Escolar e Ensino do 1º Ciclo (que habilitam profissionalmente os educadores de infância). Os programas dos diversos ciclos de estudo oferecem componentes de formação musical sob terminologia variada. Contudo, o número de horas de formação musical oferecidas, apesar de alguma variação entre instituições, aparenta ser reduzido para os objetivos enunciados e definidos nas Orientações Curriculares para a Educação Pré-Escolar (2016). Será que a formação musical dos educadores de infância corresponde às necessidades formativas e pedagógicas implicadas nas OCEPE? Será que fornece as ferramentas e competências necessárias para a realização das diferentes atividades musicais? Pretende-se com este artigo apresentar o panorama global da componente musical presente nas Licenciaturas e Mestrados que conduzem hoje à formação do educador de infância, bem como cruzar dados sobre essa formação com os princípios e objetivos de aprendizagem apresentadas nas OCEPE (2016) para as crianças portuguesas.

The role of the childhood educator in guiding the educational activities for children is central. Their professional and pedagogical training influences how they deal with the different areas and contents. In Portugal, the Veiga Simão’s Reform (1973) promoted the training childhood educators and teachers of other levels of education, reorganizing the curricula and programs. There are currently thirty undergraduate degrees in Educação Básica in Portugal that allow admission to the Master's Degrees in Pre-School Education and in Pre-School Education and 1st Cycle Teaching. The programs of the various study cycles offer components of music education under multiple designations. However, the hours of music training, despite variation among institutions, appear to be quite limited when compared to the needs implied in the goals set in the Orientações Curriculares para a Educação Pré-Escolar (2016) . Does the music training of childhood educators correspond to the professional and pedagogical needs that the OCEPE suggest for the area of music? Does it provide the tools and skills needed to perform different music activities? The aim of this article is to present a global picture of the music components present in the undergraduate and graduate programs in childhood education degrees, as well as to cross-refer this data and the principles and goals presented in the OCEPE (2016), the national document that defines the Curricular Orientations for Pre-School Education for Portuguese children.
