(Ciber)violência nas relações de intimidade e vitimação múltipla

Abstract

A violência nas relações de intimidade (VRI) e subsequentes implicações sociais e em termos de saúde mental, tem suscitado considerável interesse entre a comunidade científica. Constituindo a vitimação múltipla na infância e adolescência um fator de risco para a vitimação por VRI, é fundamental perceber a associação que existe entre estes fenómenos e o seu impacto nos indivíduos. O presente estudo visa analisar a relação entre VRI e C-VRI e a vitimação múltipla, e analisar impacto psicológico de vítimas de VRI e C-VRI que reportaram vitimação múltipla. Participaram 326 participantes entre os 18 e 25 anos (M=21.50, DP=2.03), na sua maioria mulheres (80.1%), que admitiram estar ou terem estado numa relação amorosa. A vitimação múltipla surgiu como um preditor significativo de vitimação de VRI e C VRI, tendo-se registado taxas consideráveis de prevalência. Este estudo permitiu expandir o conhecimento da vitimação múltipla e as suas consequências na vitimação na idade adulta, concluindo-se pela importância das intervenções focadas na história de vida da pessoa de forma a promover a saúde mental nas vítimas de VRI e C-VRI.

Intimate partner violence (IPV) and its subsequent social and mental health implications have raised considerable interest among the scientific community. As multiple victimization in childhood and adolescence is a risk factor for IPV victimization, it is essential to understand the association between these phenomena and its impact on individuals. The present study aims to analyze the relationship between IPV and C-IPV and multiple victimization, and to analyze psychological impact of victims of IPV and C-IPV who reported multiple victimization. A total of 326 participants between the ages of 18 and 25 years (M=21.50, SD=2.03), mostly female (80.1%), who admitted to being or having been in a loving relationship, participated. Multiple victimization emerged as a significant predictor of IPV and C IPV victimization, and considerable prevalence rates were recorded. This study expanded the knowledge of multiple victimization and its consequences on victimization in adulthood, concluding that interventions focused on the person's life history are important to promote mental health in victims of IPV and C-IPV.
