cumprirá efetivamente a aplicação desses princípios.
no greenwashing.
The term "Greenwashing" has become more common in recent years, and architecture is one of the areas in which this phenomenon occurs. Greenwashing refers to any act or action that uses the principles associated with environmentalism - sustainability, ecology, and economy - with the aim of promoting a favourable image, but which does not or will not effectively comply with the application of these principles. In architecture, this phenomenon happens frequently, both in representation and construction, through the application of vegetation on roofs and facades that tries to convey an idea of something natural and sustainable about buildings. However, many times this "green" does not have the necessary value to be truly environmentalist. The aim of this dissertation is to analyse and understand the phenomenon of greenwashing in architecture. It will be discussed why greenwashing appears in architecture, how it is reflected in images and produced in buildings. The main objective of this dissertation is to establish 5 fundamental principles that can guide architects towards adopting effectively environmentalist practices, avoiding falling into greenwashing. These principles will be developed through the analysis of projects from two ateliers – MVRDV and Stefano Boeri Architects – that have been highlighted for their experiences around the integration of vegetation in buildings. The aim is to contribute positively to the design of truly environmentalist projects. |
