Espartilho: evolução, problemas e influência no estatuto social feminino

Abstract

O presente relatório centra-se no estágio curricular realizado num dos museus que integram o World of Wine, o Porto Fashion and Fabric Museum. O trabalho está dividido em três partes fundamentais. A primeira parte constitui uma descrição do estágio no Porto Fashion and Fabric Museum, com todos os seus benefícios e problemas. É realizada uma descrição detalhada de todas as atividades executadas, que foram variadas, como por exemplo: a observação do trabalho em contexto de museu, a condução de visitas ou a preparação de diferentes oficinas. A segunda parte do relatório é focada na investigação feita sobre o espartilho. Este tópico foi articulado com o local onde realizámos o nosso estágio, de modo a ter um elo de ligação entre os dois, que é possível encontrar pelo facto de a instituição onde estagiámos estar ligada à história da moda e do vestuário. A investigação foi realizada com o objetivo de obter informação para a organização de uma exposição sobre o espartilho. A última parte do relatório diz respeito à apresentação de um projeto, que consiste numa exposição, que terá como tema principal o espartilho, contendo indicações sobre espaço, estrutura, plano de comunicação e uma diversidade de imagens e textos que devem compor a exposição. O principal objetivo desta exposição consiste em abordar a evolução, os problemas, a influência e a reintegração do espartilho no século XXI, de forma a que o público possa adquirir um conhecimento mais vasto sobre a temática. Para concretizar a elaboração deste projeto, foi importante a realização do estágio e a investigação realizada a propósito da história do espartilho.

This report focuses on the development of a curricular internship carried out in one of the museums in World of Wine, the Porto Fashion and Fabric Museum. The internship report in hand as been divided in three fundamental parts. The first part constitutes a description of the internship at the Porto Fashion and Fabric Museum, with all its benefits and problems. A detailed description of all activities carried out is provided, these activities were varied, such as: observing work in a museum context, conducting visits or preparing different workshops. The second part of the report focuses on the investigation carried out into the corset. This topic was linked to the place where we carried out our internship, in order to have a link between the two, which is possible to find due to the fact that the institution where we interned is linked to the history of fashion and clothing. The investigation was carried out with the aim of obtaining information for the organization of an exhibition about the corset. The last part of the report concerns the presentation of a project, which consists of an exhibition, which will have as its main theme the corset, containing information on space, structure, communication plan and a diversity of images and texts that should make up the exhibition. The main objective of this exhibition is to address the evolution, problems, influence and reintegration of the corset in the 21st century, so that the public can acquire a broader knowledge on the subject. To complete the development of this project, it was important to carry out the internship and the research regarding the history of the corset.
