Pedagogia do olhar: a fotografia como ferramenta pedagógica no ensino das Ciências Musicais

Abstract

O presente relatório apresenta o trabalho desenvolvido durante o Estágio Profissional realizado na Escola Profissional Artística do Alto Minho (ARTEAM) em conjunto com a Academia de Música de Viana do Castelo (AMV), ambas pertencentes à Fundação Átrio da Música (FAM), no âmbito do Mestrado em Ensino de Música da Universidade do Minho. Intitulado Pedagogia do olhar: a fotografia como ferramenta pedagógica no ensino das Ciências Musicais, o relatório apresenta novas formas de “ver e ouvir a música”. A intervenção pedagógica foi realizada em duas turmas do curso secundário de música (10.º e 11.º anos) de História da Cultura e das Artes e em cinco turmas do curso básico de música (1.º e 3.º ciclos) de Formação Musical (Iniciação Musical para o 1.º ciclo). Resultado de um processo de investigação-ação assente numa prática de investigação e intervenção, pretendeu-se trabalhar sobre a temática da fotografia enquanto ferramenta pedagógica no ensino das Ciências Musicais (História da Música e Formação Musical), recorrendo à expressão “Pedagogia do olhar”, retirada do artigo “História e fotografia: uma pedagogia do olhar” de Luís Reznick e Márcia de Almeida Gonçalves. Os dados foram recolhidos através da análise documental, observação direta das aulas e do contexto escolar, de inquéritos e fichas de trabalho realizadas, pelos alunos, durante a prática interventiva. Foi realizada ainda uma outra forma de recolha de dados através dos resultados obtidos nos trabalhos realizados pelos alunos ao longo da prática interventiva – a História da Cultura e das Artes a construção de fotobiografias que culminaram na elaboração de cartazes para exposição e a Formação Musical o realizar de uma tarefa de criação musical (composição de uma linha melódica a partir de uma fotografia da cidade de Viana do Castelo) para o trabalhar da entoação, mas que também foram incluídas na exposição. De uma forma geral, ao analisar os dados foi possível perceber que os alunos retêm melhor a informação e conhecimentos transmitidos quando estes veem vinculados a uma imagem, neste caso, fotográfica.

This report presents the work developed during the Professional Internship carried out at the Alto Minho Professional Artistic School (ARTEAM) in conjunction with the Music Academy of Viana do Castelo (AMV), both belonging to the Átrio da Música Foundation (FAM), within the scope of the Master's Degree in Music Teaching of the University of Minho. Entitled Pedagogy of the look: photography as a pedagogical tool in the teaching of Musical Sciences, the report presents new ways of "seeing and hearing music". The pedagogical intervention was carried out in two classes of the secondary course of music (10th and 11th year) of History of Culture and Arts and in five classes of the basic course of music (1st and 3rd cycle) of Musical Training (Musical Initiation for the 1st cycle). Result of a research-action process based on a practice of research and intervention, it was intended to work on the theme of photography as a pedagogical tool in the teaching of Musical Sciences (History of Music and Musical Training), using the expression "Pedagogy of the look", taken from the article "History and photography: a pedagogy of the look" by Luís Reznick and Márcia de Almeida Gonçalves. Data were collected through documentary analysis, direct observation of classes and the school context, surveys and worksheets carried out by students during the interventional practice. Another form of data collection was carried out through the results obtained by the works carried out by students throughout the interventional practice – the History of Culture and the Arts, the construction of photobiographies that culminated in the elaboration of posters for exhibition and the Musical Training, the accomplishment of a task of musical creation (composition of a melodic line from a photograph of the city of Viana do Castelo) for the work of the intonation, but which were also included in the exhibition. In general, when analyzing the data it was possible to perceive that os alunos retain better the information and knowledge transmitted when they see linked to an image, in this case, photographic.
