A inclusão da viola braguesa no ensino especializado de música um caminho para a diversidade e enriquecimento do percurso dos aspirantes a guitarristas

Abstract

O presente documento é a culminação de um projeto de investigação académica e de intervenção pedagógica realizado no âmbito do Mestrado em Ensino de Música da Universidade do Minho, na variante “Instrumento – Guitarra Clássica”. Partindo do tema “A inclusão da viola braguesa no ensino especializado de música – um caminho para a diversidade e enriquecimento do percurso musical dos aspirantes a guitarristas”, pretendeu se compreender se seria benéfico para os alunos de guitarra clássica o contacto com outro instrumento da família dos cordofones, durante o seu percurso no ensino especializado de música, nomeadamente um cordofone tradicional português como a viola braguesa. Além disso, intentou-se entender os contextos e metodologias ideais a esta inclusão, assim como criar material didático para esta viola. Nesse sentido, foi realizada uma fase de intervenção com 4 alunos de diferentes ciclos de ensino onde se fez uma introdução à viola braguesa. Recolheram-se dados através de entrevistas aos alunos e ao prof. cooperante; de notas de campo; de uma grelha de observação e de um questionário realizado a professores de guitarra. Por outro lado, através da revisão de literatura, investigou-se o fenómeno de marginalização dos instrumentos tradicionais e da sua música, bem como os recentes processos de inclusão e institucionalização, no contexto educativo. Realizou-se uma resenha histórica das violas portuguesas e do seu surgimento no ensino especializado de música. Foram ainda entrevistados dois tocadores de cordofones tradicionais portugueses para conhecer as suas experiências de ensino e aprendizagem ligadas com estes instrumentos. Face à exiguidade temporal, não se obtiveram dados suficientes no domínio técnico-interpretativo sobre as vantagens ou desvantagens do contacto com a viola braguesa na execução da guitarra clássica. Conclui-se, contudo, que esse contacto foi benéfico do ponto de vista cultural, constituindo, sem dúvida, um tipo de enriquecimento. Infere-se, por fim, que para a sustentada e profícua inclusão de um cordofone tradicional na disciplina de guitarra seria necessário redesenhar o plano curricular de forma a acomodar e prever a sua aprendizagem, ou que o seu ensino seja realizado de forma independente.

This document is the culmination of an academic research and pedagogical intervention project carried out in the scope of the Master's Degree in Music Teaching at the University of Minho, in the variant "Instrument - Classical Guitar". Starting from the theme "The inclusion of the viola braguesa in specialized music education - a path towards diversity and enrichment of the musical journey of aspiring guitarists", the project aimed at understanding whether it would be beneficial for classical guitar students to have contact with another instrument from the family of plucked string instruments, during their path in the specialized music education school, namely a traditional Portuguese string instrument such as the viola braguesa. Furthermore, we intended to understand the ideal contexts and methodologies for this inclusion, as well as to create didactic material for this viola. In this sense, an intervention phase was carried out with 4 students from different schooling levels where an introduction to the viola braguesa was made. Data was collected through interviews with the students and the cooperating teacher; field notes; an observation grid and a questionnaire given to guitar teachers. On the other hand, through the literature review, we investigated the phenomenon of marginalization of traditional instruments and their music, as well as the recent processes of inclusion and institutionalization in the educational context. A historical review of the Portuguese guitars and their emergence in specialized music education was carried out. Two traditional guitar players were also interviewed to learn about their teaching and learning experiences related to these instruments. Due to the shortness of time, we did not obtain sufficient data in the technical-interpretative domain about the advantages or disadvantages of the contact with the viola braguesa in the performance of classical guitar. It is concluded, however, that this contact was beneficial from the cultural point of view, being, without a doubt, a kind of enrichment. Finally, it is inferred that for the sustained and fruitful inclusion of a traditional chordophone in the guitar discipline it would be necessary to redesign the curricular plan so as to accommodate and provide for its learning, or for its teaching to be done independently.
