dc.description.abstract | Solar photovoltaic systems are an increasing option for electricity production, since they are a clean renewable energy source, and over the years, as a result of the research, their efficiency has been increasing. For the interface between the photovoltaic solar array (DC) and the electrical grid (AC) the use of an inverter (DC-AC converter) is necessary, which should be optimized to extract the maximum power from the photovoltaic solar array, guaranteeing the electrical power quality. There are different topologies of inverters that can be used in these systems, but the most common is the Voltage-Source Inverter (VSI). In this master thesis a solution based on a Current-Source Inverter (CSI) was developed, seeking to exploit its benefits. Besides the study of the main existing inverter topologies, before implementing the system, a study about the state of the art was made to better understand solar photovoltaic systems, as well as the main modulation techniques applicable to the converter used in this master thesis. Taking into account the characteristics of the desired system, a three-phase current-source inverter was selected and a hybrid modulation technique, based on space-vector modulation and periodic sampling was developed. All the power circuit and the respective control systems were tested and validated using computer simulations in PSIM and Matlab and, after this validation, the whole system was implemented in laboratory, resulting in a prototype. Finally, to assess the operation of the inverter, as well as to analyze the electrical power quality, laboratory tests were performed. | por |
