A vida nas instituições de acolhimento de crianças: receção, percursos vivenciais e projetos institucionais

Abstract

A dissertação A vida nas instituições de acolhimento de crianças: receção, percursos vivenciais e projetos institucionais centra-se na análise das formas de vida de crianças e jovens no interior das instituições de acolhimento (Lar de crianças e jovens). Ela tem como objetivo efetuar uma análise sobre as estratégias utilizadas no momento em que a criança ou jovens é acolhida numa instituição de acolhimento, bem como as formas de organização da vida quotidiana nas instituições, através da análise dos procedimentos de duas instituições de acolhimento, distintas quer em termos de número de crianças acolhidas quer em termos de condições físicas e arquitetónicas. A metodologia é qualitativa, através de entrevistas a 6 técnicos e a 3 pessoas que no passado estiveram institucionalizadas e da observação de ações quotidianas nos LIJ. O foco deste estudo não é fazer comparações entre estas duas instituições, pelo contrário é perceber como se desenrola o processo de acolhimento institucional de crianças e jovens, e verificar se existem diferenças nos procedimentos. São evidenciadas as necessidades que processo de acolhimento de crianças e jovens deverá desenvolver interações empáticas e vinculativas com os mesmos, rejeitando por consequência uma visão meramente técnico-instrumental na receção e nos percursos vivenciais no interior das instituições.

The dissertation Life in childcare institutions: reception, experiential pathways and institutional projects focuses on the analysis of the forms of life of children and young people within the host institutions (Home for children and youth). It aims to make an analysis of the strategies used at the time the child or youth is welcomed in a host institution as well as the forms of organization of everyday life in institutions, by analyzing the procedures of two host institutions, different in terms of number of children accommodated as in terms of physical and architectural conditions. The methodology is qualitative, through interviews with 6 technicians and 3 people that in the past have been institutionalized and through the observation of everyday actions in LIJ. The focus of this study is not to make comparisons between these two institutions, on the other hand is to see how it unfolds the residential care process of children and youth, and check if there are differences in procedure. The needs that the process of the reception of children and youth should develop empathic and binding interactions with one another, rejecting consequently a vision merely technical-instrumental in the reception and in the experiential routes inside the institutions are evidenced.
