programa Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, versão 22.0 Os resultados
The objective of this study was to identify and analyze the beliefs that the lusophone African community, living in Portugal, maintains about intimacy violence. Participants (N = 70) responded to an online survey, adapted from the Beliefs Scale on Conjugal Violence, focusing on the quantitative method and using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences program, version 22.0. The results indicated a reduced legitimation of violence in intimacy, which was less legitimized when it was to preserve family privacy and more legitimized when it came to "small violence". Three variables showed a significant impact on the beliefs of this target group: the male gender legitimized more violence, urban residents had a lower tolerance to violence and the longest residents in Portugal had less legitimation of violence. The study found also that the percentage of participants who admitted to being victims was low (17.3%) and from the female gender. In this subgroup, the legitimation was bigger when the episodes were evaluated as non-serious. We hope that this study will reinforce the Fifth National Plan to Prevent and Combat Domestic and Gender Violence, 2014-2017, as well to contribute to a change in the intimacy violence discourses inside of this African community. |
