Relação entre juventude, comportamentos desviantes e família: o que os jovens têm para dizer?

Abstract

A relação entre família e comportamentos desviantes juvenis sempre foi uma preocupação nos estudos do desvio (juvenil) e da delinquência. Se existem já estudos consistentes sobre esta relação poucos se têm debruçado sobre como os jovens atribuem significados à forma como a família e as suas dinâmicas contribuem ou não para o desenvolvimento de comportamento desviantes e delinquentes. Foi neste propósito que se desenvolveu este trabalho científico que tem como objetivo principal compreender o papel da família no desenvolvimento do comportamento desviante dos jovens, através da ótica dos mesmos. No que diz respeito à metodologia de investigação, numa primeira fase, debruçouse sobre técnicas quantitativas, tendo sido utilizados inquéritos sociais, nomeadamente a versão portuguesa da Escala de Condutas Antissociais e Delitivas, um questionário sociodemográfico e de caraterização de perceções e práticas familiares, construído para esta investigação. Com estes instrumentos pretendemos caraterizar os principais comportamentos desviantes dos alunos, percebendo se há diferenças de género e de idade; perceber a relação entre a existência de problemas na família e as condutas desviantes dos jovens; perceber a relação entre práticas familiares (dis)funcionais e os comportamentos desviantes (percecionados e praticados) dos jovens. Numa segunda fase, de índole qualitativa foram realizados grupos focais, a fim de explorar as perspetivas dos jovens sobre comportamentos desviantes e dinâmicas familiares. Os resultados mostram que os jovens concordam que o consumo de substâncias, ter amigos más influências, ter pais com problemas com a justiça, pais com autoridade ou liberais e/ou problemas económicos podem influenciar as condutas dos jovens, enunciando algumas questões até bastantes pertinentes de serem debatidas. A família é vista como a principal influenciadora de condutas, mais do que a própria sociedade. A juventude, a família e os comportamentos desviantes são conceitos que se entrecruzam e este trabalho colabora para um desenvolvimento nestas temáticas, laboradas e fortalecidas sobre o olhar atento dos jovens.

The relationship between family and juvenile deviant behavior has always been a concern in studies of deviance (juvenile) and delinquency. If there are already consistent studies on this relationship few have looked at how young people attribute meanings to the way in which the family and its dynamics contribute or not to the development of deviant and delinquent behavior. It was in this purpose that this scientific work was developed whose main objective is to understand the role of the family in the development of the deviant behavior of the young, through their perspective. As far as the research methodology was concerned, it was initially a question of quantitative techniques, and social surveys were used, namely the Portuguese version of the Anti-Social and Delusional Conduct Scale, a sociodemographic questionnaire and characterization of family perceptions and practices, built for this research. With these instruments we intend to characterize the main deviant behaviors of the students, noticing if there are differences of gender and age; to perceive the relation between the existence of problems in the family and the deviant behaviors of young people; perceive the relationship between (dis) functional family practices and the deviant behaviors (perceived and practiced) of the young. In a second phase, qualitative groups were held in order to explore young people's perspectives on deviant behavior and family dynamics. The results show that young people agree that substance use, having bad friends, having parents with problems with justice, parents with authority or liberals and / or economic problems can influence the behavior of young people, be debated. The family is seen as the main conduit influencer rather than society itself. Youth, family and deviant behavior are concepts that intersect and this work contributes to a development in these themes, worked and strengthened on the attentive look of young people.
