Quando a palavra e o desenho (se) combinam: sobre a escrita de Leonol Neves e a ilustração de Tóssan

Abstract

O presente estudo centra-se na escrita literária que Leonel Neves (1921-1996) dedicou especialmente à infância, em concreto, os seus volumes de poesia e de narrativa que foram editados com “desenhos” de Tóssan (1918-1991). É esse conjunto de obras, no total de doze, que analisaremos, procurando dilucidar, além das mais relevantes singularidades literárias, as principais recorrências estéticas da composição visual e gráfica, bem como algumas das características que distinguem a sinergia intersemiótica que se celebra entre palavras e imagens.

This study focuses on the literary writing that Leonel Neves (1921-1996) especially dedicated to children, in particular, his books of poetry and short stories that were published with “drawings” by Tóssan (1918-1991). It is this set of works, totaling twelve, that we will analyze, aiming at elucidating, besides the most relevant literary singularities, the main aesthetic recurrences of visual and graphic composition, as well as some of the characteristics that distinguish the intersemiotic synergy celebrated between words and images.
