A dimensão da comunicação multilingue em contexto profissional na indústria têxtil

Abstract

O presente relatório de estágio foi elaborado no âmbito do segundo ano do Mestrado em Tradução e Comunicação Multilingue, e analisa todas as tarefas realizadas durante o estágio curricular na empresa Têxteis José Campos. São abordadas as várias vertentes trabalhadas durante os três meses de estágio, tais como a tradução, a criação de conteúdos, a localização e a comunicação multilingue, todas elas realizadas em contexto empresarial. Com este estágio, o principal objetivo da entidade acolhedora era o de ajudar a internacionalizar a empresa e a promover os seus serviços. Dito isto, o estágio serviu para auxiliar a empresa na concretização do seu objetivo, no que diz respeito à reestruturação e localização do seu website, assim como na edição e tradução de documentos. Da mesma forma, foi possível cooperar com os colegas de departamento, de modo a facilitar a comunicação com os potenciais clientes estrangeiros. Com a elaboração deste relatório, foi possível refletir, por um lado, sobre a importância das línguas a nível global e a dinâmica que estas podem trazer ao desenvolvimento da comunicação interpessoal, assim como as vantagens que a comunicação multilingue poderá trazer para a indústria têxtil em Portugal.

This internship report was written in the second year of the Master’s in Translation and Multilingual Communication, and it analyses all the tasks carried out during my internship at Têxteis José Campos. Various aspects of the work field were addressed during the three-month-long internship, such as translation, localisation, and multilingual communication, all carried out in a business context. The main objective of the host institution was to internationalise the company and to promote its services. That said, with the internship I was able to help the company achieve its goals, regarding the restructuring and localisation of the website, as well as the editing and translation of documents. Likewise, it was also possible to cooperate with colleagues from the same department as myself, in order to aid them during the communication process with potential foreign clients. By writing this report, I was able to reflect on the importance that languages have on a global scale and the different dynamics they can bring to the development of interpersonal communications, as well as understand the benefits that multilingual communication may bring to the textile industry in Portugal.
