Caracterização da receptividade do e-learning para um determinado público alvo

Abstract

É um facto por demais evidente que a maioria das instituições do ensino superior está a introduzir as novas tecnologias de comunicação e informação nas suas metodologias de ensino. A pesquisa bibliográfica demonstra a existência de um elevado interesse institucional na utilização das novas tecnologias no ensino, sedimentado no empenho da União Europeia e do nosso país na divulgação e implementação das novas tecnologias e na introdução da modalidade e-learning. Esta dissertação, dedicada ao estudo da receptividade ao e-learning, tem como objectivo caracterizar o grau de adesão dos alunos, antigos alunos e docentes de uma escola superior pertencente ao ensino superior público politécnico à modalidade de e-learning. Por forma a atingir tal objectivo, recorremos à análise estatística de um inquérito disponibilizado à população do estabelecimento de ensino em análise. As concepções defendidas em algumas abordagens teóricas, indicavam como factores condicionantes para o sucesso da implementação desta modalidade de ensino à distância, a localização geográfica, a situação profissional, a apetência para as tecnologias e o suporte informático. A partir destas ideias, postulamos um conjunto de hipóteses que foram testadas utilizando o referido inquérito, cujos resultados apesar de evidenciarem os factores indicados não foram significativos para aferir à população as hipóteses definidas.

It became a well known fact that the majority of the Higher Education Institutions are developing new technologies of communication and information in their own teaching methodologies. The bibliographic research shows the existence of a high institutional interest in the use of new technologies when related to teaching, based in the effort of the UE and our country for the divulgation and establishment of these new technologies along with the introduction of e-learning. This dissertation, dedicated to the study of e-learning receptivity, intends to present the levels of adhesion to e-learning from students, former students and teachers inside the Polytechnic Public High Education. In order to achieve that purpose we dealt with a statistic analysis of an inquiry available to the population of the Education School in reference. The major conceptions presented in some theoretical approaches indicate the geographic position, professional status, aptitude to new technologies and informatics support as conditional factors for the success of this kind of long-distance learning. Based and supported by these ideas and concepts, we have postulated a number of possibilities that were tested using the inquiry mentioned above, and whose results – although proving the indicated factors – were not significant enough to gauge the defined possibilities to the population in issue.
