Esta reflexão centra-se no ensino da guitarra nas escolas especializadas de música em Portugal. Faz uma breve contextualização, Experiência Pedagógica de 1971, inserção no sistema geral de ensino, mencionando o programa e formas de avaliação. Menciona a reestruturação de 2009 e a introdução do ensino instrumental em grupo. Refere as metodologias associadas ao ensino não formal e informal e às tipologias musicais populares. O objetivo principal é consciencializar para a necessidade de introduzir no currículo musical outras formas de ensinar e aprender e outras músicas do mundo que respondam às perspetivas da população escolar que frequenta este tipo de ensino.
