Surdos do interior do Brasil e a língua de sinais

Abstract

Em muitas cidades do interior do Brasil as pessoas surdas passam por dificuldades em sua escolarização devido à falta da língua de sinais por causa do afastamento dos grandes centros urbanos. O objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar uma revisão sistemática da literatura sobre surdos que vivem em cidades do interior. A finalidade é analisar os desafios das pessoas surdas que vivem nessas cidades quanto a educação e a disponibilidade e qualidade dos serviços oferecidos aos surdos. Na revisão, incluímos artigos científicos disponibilizados nas bases de dados da Web of Science, Scopus; SciELO e Google Acadêmico publicados entre 2000 e 2020 em inglês e português. Durante a fase de identificação, de avaliação e de analise dos resumos e aplicando os critérios finais de inclusão e exclusão, os que atenderam aos critérios finais de inclusão, perfizeram um total de 8 artigos selecionados para esta revisão. Concluímos que as investigações sobre os surdos no interior, mesmo escassas, revelam a preocupação de pesquisadores em diferentes países sobre os surdos no interior. Concluímos que no interior, os surdos enfrentam desafios quanto ao acesso a língua de sinais e o seu uso na escola. Concluímos também que o pouco acesso a língua de sinais consequentemente gera um maior fracasso escolar e que os serviços educacionais (intérprete, professor especialista para o atendimento especializado) não são ofertados aos surdos do interior.

In many cities in the interior of Brazil, deaf people experience difficulties in their schooling due to the lack of sign language because of the remoteness of large urban centers. The aim of this paper is to present a systematic review of the literature on deaf people living in countryside cities. The purpose is to analyze the challenges of deaf people who live in these cities regarding education and the availability and quality of services offered to the deaf. In the review, we included scientific articles available in the Web of Science, Scopus, SciELO and Google Academic databases published between 2000 and 2020 in English and Portuguese. During the identification, evaluation, and abstract analysis phase, and by applying the final inclusion and exclusion criteria, those that met the final inclusion criteria made up a total of 8 articles selected for this review. We conclude that the investigations about the deaf in the countryside, although scarce, reveal the concern of researchers in different countries about the deaf in the countryside. We conclude that in the countryside, the deaf face challenges regarding access to sign language and its use in school. We also concluded that little access to sign language consequently generates greater school failure and that educational services (interpreter, specialist teacher for specialized care) are not offered to the deaf in the countryside.
