BTC: alternativa aos sistemas construtivos de parede correntes em Portugal

Abstract

Este trabalho está ligado à investigação levada a cabo pelo grupo de trabalho B2terra da Universidade do Minho. Foca-se sobre o uso de terra como material de construção, mais concretamente sobre o uso do bloco de terra compactada (BTC). O foco principal desta dissertação é debruçar-se sobre a construção de paredes em BTC e desenvolver uma pesquisa sobre adequação das deste sistema construtivo instalações elétricas e hidráulicas apontando as diferenças em relação à construção convencional. Baseando este estudo na construção convencional e na construção em tijolo como material estrutural pretende-se encontrar formas de agilizar a construção em BTC como material estrutural com processos convencionais de construção ou mesmo substituir algumas formas correntes de construção pelo uso do BTC. Para tal estudaram-se novos formatos de BTCs e diferentes tipos de assentamentos de blocos.

This work is linked to the research conducted by the Workgroup Civil Engineering Laboratory of the University of Minho. It focuses on the use of earth as a building material, namely the use of compressed earth blocks (CEB). The main attention of this dissertation is to address the building of walls in CEB and to develop a research about electrical and hydraulic systems pointing out the differences between those and the conventional way of building. Basing this study on the hollow brick construction and the regular brick as a structural material the aim is to find ways to facilitate CEB construction as a structural material with the conventional ways of building or even to replace some of the current ways of building with the use of CEB. For that new CEB formats were studied and also different bloc bonds.
