O falar bracarense: Mitos, identidades e palavrões

Abstract

Não há um espaço humano sem uma língua que o delimite. Mas também não pode haver uma língua sem um espaço físico e social. No caso do “espaço bracarense”, que especificidades podem identificar a forma de usar a língua? Não tendo por finalidade dirigir-se a um público de especialistas sobre dialetologia, este texto consiste apenas num conjunto de reflexões que procuram fundamentar e exemplificar, numa dimensão sociolinguística, a relação entre um espaço geográfco e as suas idiossincrasias linguísticas e vivenciais-culturais. Procurar-se-á, através de testemunhos do Projeto Perfil Sociolinguístico da Fala Bracarense (https://sites.google.com/site/projectofalabracarense/home), evidenciar a importância que alguns elementos lexicais podem ter num determinado espaço geográfico, bem assim como refletir sobre a autoconsciência que o falante bracarense tem da sua fala.

Human spaces generally have a limit established by language. And Language cannot exist outside of a physical and social space. Which linguistic specificities can then identify the way “Braga people” use their language? Although this text is not aimed at an audience of dialectology experts, it consists in a set of justifying and exemplifying thoughts, framed by sociolinguistic dimension and addressing the relationship between a geographic space and its linguistic, daily life and cultural idiosyncrasies. Instead, it will try and show the relevance of some lexical elements within a geographic space as well as to reflect upon the Braga speaker’s self-awareness of his/her own speech conditions amidst the same geographic space.
