Psicomotricidade e leitura: perfis de crianças do 3º e 4º anos do 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico de uma cidade do centro de Portugal

Abstract

Este estudo tem como finalidade perceber a relação entre o perfil psicomotor e as capacidades de leitura, num grupo de 12 crianças, matriculadas no 3.º e 4.º anos do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, inseridas num contexto desportivo, numa cidade do centro de Portugal. Como instrumentos de recolha dos dados foi utilizada a Bateria Psicomotora, para avaliar o perfil psicomotor das crianças e as provas de Monitorização com Base no Currículo (MBC) – Fluência e MBC – Maze, para inferir sobre as componentes de fluência e compreensão da leitura. A análise dos resultados foi feita através de estatística descritiva que permitiu concluir que: a) todos os alunos apresentaram realizações gerais adequadas e controladas ou mesmo perfeitas e harmoniosas, correspondentes a perfis eupráxicos (3 pontos) e hiperpráxicos (4 pontos); b) os alunos do grupo do 4.º ano apresentam totais de perfis psicomotores superiores aos do grupo do 3.º ano; c) as principais dificuldades, a nível psicomotor, das crianças do grupo do 3.º ano, são a tonicidade, a noção do corpo e a estruturação espácio-temporal; d) as principais dificuldades, a nível psicomotor, das crianças do grupo do 4.º ano, são a noção do corpo e a estruturação espácio-temporal; e), quer no grupo de 3.º ano, como no grupo do 4.º ano, realça-se a realização positiva ao nível da praxia fina e praxia global; f) a maioria das crianças da amostra, apresenta um perfil de leitura adequado e esperado para o seu ano de escolaridade; g) no grupo do 3.º ano identifica-se um aluno em potencial risco de apresentar dificuldades de aprendizagem ao nível da fluência; h) no grupo do 4.º ano identificam-se dois alunos em potencial risco de apresentarem dificuldades de aprendizagem ao nível da fluência e compreensão; i) forte relação entre as componentes fluência e compreensão leitora; j) no grupo do 3.º ano, o perfil psicomotor com uma pontuação mais baixa pertence à criança em risco de desenvolver dificuldades de aprendizagem ao nível da fluência; k) no grupo do 4.º ano, os alunos que apresentam potencial risco ao nível da fluência e da compreensão, apresentam resultados totais psicomotores adequados e harmónicos.

This study aims to understand the relationship between the psychomotor and reading profile, in a group of 12 children, enrolled in the 3rd and 4th year of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education, included in a sports context, in a city in central Portugal. As a way of collecting the desired data, the Psychomotor Battery was used to evaluate the psychomotor profile of the children and the MBC – Fluency and MBC – Maze tests, to infer about the fluency and comprehension components. The analysis and treatment of the results was done through descriptive statistics and the transformation of these results into new ZScore variables, which allowed us to conclude that: a) all students have adequate and controlled general achievements or even perfect and harmonious, corresponding to eupraxic (3 points) and hyperpraxis (4 points) profiles; b) students in the 4th year group have higher psychomotor profiles than those in the 3rd year group; c) the main psychomotor difficulties of the children in the 3rd grade group are tonicity, body awareness and spatio-temporal structuring; d) the main difficulties, at the psychomotor level, of the children in the 4th grade group are the notion of the body and the spatio-temporal structuring; e) in the 3rd year group and in the 4th year group, the positive achievement in terms of fine praxis and global praxis is highlighted; f) most of the children in the sample have an adequate and expected reading profile for their school year; g) in the 3rd year group, a student at potential risk of learning difficulties in terms of fluency is identified; h) in the 4th grade group, two students are identified at potential risk of learning difficulties in terms of fluency and comprehension; i) strong relationship between the components fluency and reading comprehension; j) in the 3rd grade group, the psychomotor profile with the lowest score belongs to the child at risk of developing learning difficulties in fluency; k) In the 4th grade group, students who present potential risk in terms of fluency and comprehension present adequate and harmonic total psychomotor results.
