This internship report entitled, “Conceptions about change, in 8th grade students, based on the exploration of themes about the agricultural and industrial revolutions at the end of the 18th century”, carried out based on the supervised pedagogical intervention project (PIPS) within the scope of the Master's in History Teaching in the 3rd Cycle of Basic and Secondary Education, at the University of Minho. The project was implemented in a class of the 3rd cycle of Basic Education (8th year) of a school in the municipality of Braga, using a methodology where the principles of action-research and the constructivist paradigm were applied, based on the workshop class model, and taking into account the limitations and constraints caused by the pandemic scenario. For the investigational structuring of the project, three research questions were put together that sought to be answered: What are the students' conceptions about the concepts of change and historical progress? What ideas and conceptualizations do students express about historical change from the study of the Agricultural and Industrial Revolution? What difficulties do students express about historical change when they analyse different sources subordinated to the subject under study? Using the implementation of various instruments (questionnaires to survey prior ideas, diagnostic, work and metacognition sheets), these elements were thus gathered to answer the research questions. The analysis of the collected data was carried out using Grounded Theory, allowing the organization and categorization of the students' ideas. From the interpretation of the observed results, it was possible to conclude that a teaching of a constructivist nature allows to produce a development of the conceptions that the students establish in relation to the concept of second order - the historical change, deconstructing some of its initial notions and promoting a more sophisticated understanding of temporal rhythms, orientations and conceptualizations of historical progression.por
