Desenvolvendo a literacia estatística na Educação Pré-Escolar e no 2.º ano de escolaridade através de investigações estatísticas

Abstract

O presente relatório evidência o resultado de um projeto de investigação e intervenção desenvolvido nos contextos da Educação Pré-Escolar e numa turma do 2.º ano do Ensino Básico, no âmbito no Mestrado em Educação Pré-Escolar e Ensino do 1.º ciclo do Ensino Básico. Sendo a temática de Organização e Tratamento de Dados transversal ao currículo destes dois níveis de ensino, e face às necessidades nos dois contextos, considerei pertinente explorar esta temática. Dada a participação das escolas no projeto Eco-Escolas julguei também pertinente a realização de diferentes investigações estatísticas articuladas com esse projeto. Ao longo de todo este projeto, adotei uma metodologia com características de investigação-ação, centrada numa prática reflexiva, mantendo o foco na participação ativa das crianças/alunos na sua aprendizagem. Com o objetivo de promover competências no domínio da literacia estatística, foram implementadas um total de catorze atividades na Educação Pré-Escolar e onze na turma do 2.º ano de escolaridade. Durante as intervenções no contexto da Educação Pré-Escolar notou-se uma evolução significativa no domínio da literacia estatística, uma vez que era uma temática muito pouco abordada na sala. Relativamente à turma do 2.º ano de escolaridade, pode-se também constatar um grande progresso dos alunos no que diz respeito à temática. Eles conseguiram autonomamente, distinguir as diferentes fases do ciclo investigativo, bem como contruir e analisar autonomamente os dados apresentados em tabelas e gráficos. A nível pessoal a realização deste estágio permitiu-me refletir acerca das minhas práticas pedagógicas, e compreender a importância da constante formação profissional, para o desenrolar harmonioso do sucesso educativo das crianças. Posso assegurar que termino esta unidade curricular, com o sentimento de objetivo cumprido, uma vez que consegui alcançar todos os objetivos a que me propus.

This report demonstrates the result of a research and intervention project developed in the context of kindergarten and in a class of the 2nd grade of Elementary School, within the scope of the Master's Degree in Pre-School Education and Teaching of the 1st cycle of basic education. Since the topic of Data Organization and Processing is transversal to the curriculum of these two levels of education, and given the needs in both contexts, I considered it pertinent to explore this theme. Due to the participation of schools in the Eco-Schools project, I also thought it would be pertinent to articulate with this project different statistical investigations. Throughout this project, I adopted a research-action methodology characteristics, centered on a reflective practice, keeping the focus on the active participation of children/students in their learning. With the aim of promoting competences in the statistical literacy domain, a total of fourteen activities were integrated in kindergarten and eleven in the 2nd grade class. During the interventions in the context of kindergarten, a significant evolution was noted in the field of statistical literacy, since it was a topic that was rarely addressed in the classroom. Regarding the 2nd grade class, one can also state a great progress of the students regarding the theme. They autonomously managed to distinguish the different phases of the investigative cycle, as well as autonomously build and analyze the data that was presented in tables and graphs. On a personal level, completing this internship allowed me to reflect on my pedagogical practices, and to understand the importance of constant professional training, for the harmonious development of children's educational success. I can assure that I finish this curricular unit with a feeling of accomplishment, since I managed to achieve all the objectives that I initially set for myself.
