Over time, mainly in recent years impacted by an epidemic, interactions between child-child and child-adult were visibly affected. Consequently, there is an immeasurable concern to encourage this social competence in children. However, in practice, it appears that, in some educational contexts, whether in Nursery School or in Primary Education, opportunities are not provided for children to interact. In this sense, the present internship report is the result of two pedagogical intervention projects, developed within the scope of the Internship Curricular Unit, of the Master´s in Pre-School Education and Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education, whose main objective was to promote interactions and provide different and vast learning experiences. The project took place in two public contexts, and it involved a heterogeneous group of twenty-five children of a Kindergarten and a group of twenty children from a second-year class. Intending to answer the question “Do interactions contribute to children´s learning and development?”, it was assumed that an educational environment ruled by respect and mutual help would allow the child to feel welcomed and safe, which could encourage her/him (them) to develop his/her (their) maximum abilities, including interaction. With this in mind, practical, creative and meaningful activities were promoted through a holistic perspective of knowledge and learning, favoring collaborative work, in order to achieve the defined pedagogical intervention and research goals. In this sense, after the diagnostic phase, the methodological options that could provide the development of transversal competences by the two contexts were outlined. To do so, the research-action methodology was used, with the aim of improving the quality of the teaching and learning process and guaranteeing the construction of knowledge, and attitudes of the educator, teacher and researcher. This theme emerged from a participant observation and systematic reflection on the contexts, where it was possible to verify a great interest of the children in interacting with each other, although sometimes they did not know how. In this regard, the relevance of creating moments rich in interactions, in a creative, dynamic and different way, in articulation with other areas of knowledge, allowing the child to have an active voice, interact and participate in the construction of their knowledge, allowing, thus, the evolution of children´s cognitive, personal and social abilities.por
