In a near future, Plurilinguism will be reality for many adolescents. Promotion on language teaching and learning programmes involve increasingly students and teachers beyond borders. Consequently, both need to be able to manage the error in their favour, using it as a teaching-learning environment. In Portugal, the teaching of a foreign language became mandatory for the first cycle of studies. In this context, the error is still looked as something negative and/or punished, which leads to student’s disinvestment in a long-term learning. Starting from a review of literature on emotional intelligence; error and learning, a project is suggested that answers to the question: In what extent can teachers’ convictions and approach on error interfere in the learning of a foreign language? Participate 100 English teachers of the 7th grade and their students, of public schools in the Intermunicipal Ave Community. An on-line questionnaire will be used with teachers on their beliefs and strategies towards the error, training workshop about the theme, with the appliance of the skills in the classroom during a thematic unit, followed by information collection on students’ educational outcomes and teachers’ opinion about error. The impact of the approach to error in the students learning is analysed.por
