Abordagem à leitura na Educação Pré-Escolar e no Ensino do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico. Percurso de descoberta de singularidades na atividade docente

Abstract

O presente relatório apresenta o resultado de um projeto de investigação e intervenção desenvolvido nos contextos da Educação Pré-Escolar e numa turma do 1.º ano do Ensino Básico, no âmbito do Mestrado em Educação Pré-Escolar e Ensino do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico. No decorrer do desenvolvimento deste projeto, empregou-se uma abordagem que combina características de investigação-ação, concentrando-se numa prática reflexiva e destacando o papel crucial da participação ativa das crianças e alunos no seu próprio processo de aprendizagem. A motivação para o projeto surgiu da observação de que as crianças demonstravam pouco interesse pela leitura e apresentavam dificuldades na linguagem oral. O objetivo principal do trabalho foi o de desenvolver o gosto pela leitura nas crianças, especialmente através da hora do conto. No pré-escolar, identificou-se a falta de um espaço acolhedor para a leitura, a ausência de participação dos familiares nas atividades de leitura e o mau estado dos livros disponíveis. O projeto foi construído com base nos interesses das crianças, tornando-as participantes ativas na construção do espaço da hora do conto. Durante os momentos de leitura, promoveu-se o diálogo e a colaboração para construir significados a partir das histórias dos livros. No 1.º ciclo, constatou-se que a maioria das crianças enfrentava dificuldades na leitura. Decidiu-se por isso, que o projeto em contexto do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico iria abordar o ensino das letras unindo-o ao prazer da leitura. Utilizou-se o manual escolar para ensinar as letras e, quando apropriado, um livro infantil com poemas divertidos sobre as letras, para cativar os alunos a se interessarem mais pela aprendizagem. Ambos os projetos visaram despertar o interesse e entusiasmo das crianças pela leitura, contribuindo para o desenvolvimento das suas habilidades linguísticas e promovendo o prazer de ler. Durante as intervenções no contexto da Educação Pré-Escolar notou-se uma evolução no gosto pela leitura. Relativamente à turma do 1.º ano de escolaridade, pode-se também constatar um grande progresso dos alunos no que diz respeito à temática, pois o seu nível de leitura no final do projeto foi notório, sendo que a leitura no 1.º ano é um processo demorado e que requer mais tempo e trabalho. No final, a realização deste estágio proporcionou a construção de aprendizagem profissional, adquirindo um vasto leque de aptidões como futura docente.

This report presents the results of a research and intervention project carried out in the contexts of pre school education and in a primary school class, as part of the Master's programme in pre-school education and primary school teaching. During the development of this project, an approach was employed that combines characteristics of action research, focusing on reflective practice and emphasising the crucial role of the active participation of children and students in their own learning process. The motivation for the project arose from the observation that the children showed little interest in reading and had difficulties with oral language. The main aim of the work was to develop children's love of reading, especially through story time. At pre-school, the lack of a cosy space for reading, the absence of family participation in reading activities and the poor state of the books available were identified. The project was built around the children's interests, making them active participants in the construction of the storytime space. During the reading moments, dialogue and collaboration were promoted in order to construct meanings from the stories in the books. In the 1st cycle, it was realised that most of the children had reading difficulties. It was therefore decided that the project in the context of primary school would address the teaching of letters and combine it with the pleasure of reading. The school textbook was used to teach the letters and, where appropriate, a children's book with fun poems about letters was used to get the students more interested in learning. Both projects aimed to arouse the children's interest and enthusiasm for reading, contributing to the development of their language skills and promoting the pleasure of reading. During the interventions in the pre-school context, an evolution in the love of reading was noted. With regard to the 1st grade class, the students made great progress on the subject, as their reading level at the end of the project was notable, given that reading in the 1st grade is a lengthy process that requires more time and work. On the whole, carrying out this internship allowed the construction of professional learning, acquiring a wide range of skills as a future teacher.
