Perceção de violência no trabalho: um estudo com professores em Portugal em regime de ensino presencial e online

Abstract

A violência no trabalho tem-se assumido como uma problemática frequente em diferentes grupos ocupacionais. Este estudo aborda o tema num grupo ocupacional pouco estudado em Portugal, os professores, e tem como principal objetivo caracterizar a perceção de violência no trabalho contra os(as) professores(as) considerando os regimes de ensino presencial e online, do ano letivo 2019/2020. Responderam a um questionário online 804 professores, maioritariamente, dos ensinos básico, secundário e profissional. Os resultados indicam que o tipo de violência mais frequentemente reportado nos dois regimes de ensino é a violência vicariante sendo a fonte mais comum destes comportamentos os(as) estudantes. A interferência dos pais foi apontada como a forma de violência mais associada ao ensino online. Verificou-se que a perceção de violência física e vicariante é mais comum nas escolas públicas, que as regiões Centro e Alentejo exibem níveis de violência psicológica superiores à região Norte e que a frequência de violência percecionada está negativamente associada à perceção de suporte dos colegas e das chefias.

Violence at work as become a frequent problem among different occupational groups. The present study addresses this theme in as occupational group that has been little studied in Portugal, teachers, and aimed to characterize the perception of violence against teachers in Portugal, considering presential and online education systems, for the past academic year 2019/2020. 804 teachers, most of them teaching in Middle, High, and Vocational School, answered an online questionnaire. The results indicate that the type of violence most frequently perceived by teachers, in both teaching systems, is vicarious violence, with students being the most common source of these behaviors. The parent´s interference was identified by the participants as the most frequently form of violence associated to online teaching. It was also found that physical and vicarious violence against teachers is more common in public schools, the Center an Alentejo regions show higher levels of psychological violence than North, and the frequency of violent events is negatively associated with organizational and colleague´s support.
