| dc.description.abstract | Due to society's growing concern for the environment, it is imperative that solutions are sought to combat pollution and the scarcity of resources, and the textile industry is no exception. In fact, this industry is quite polluting, particularly in the area of dyeing, which is the area of focus in this work, where huge amounts of resources are still used, such as water, dyes and chemicals. The main aim of this work was therefore to optimize a process of pre-treatment and exhaustion dyeing of a PES/CO blend in order to increase its sustainability. The main objectives of this optimization were to reduce the electrical energy used, the amount of water used and the total process time. In addition to these objectives, it was also essential that the yarn had good levels of fastness. In order to optimize the pre-treatment and dyeing of the yarn, an alternative method was implemented in which three innovative products were tested at different stages of the process. The first phase of this study consisted of reproducing the conventional method used to pre-treat and dye the yarn with a color chosen for the purpose and analyzing the water and electricity costs required by the processes. In the second phase of the study, the alternative method was implemented and three tests were carried out with the innovative products, the application of which differed from one another in that the first acted in the pre-treatment and the second and third in the soaping. These innovative products made it possible to reduce the amount of water and electricity used and also to reduce the duration of the dyeing process. The third phase of the study consisted of carrying out fastness tests on the dyed samples and on the control samples obtained using the conventional and alternative methods. From the analysis of the results obtained in the conventional and alternative methods, it can be concluded that test three proved to be more effective than the traditional method for dark colors, because they have identical fastness indexes and in terms of sustainability, there is less expenditure on water, electricity and time in the process of dyeing this type of yarn. | por |
