The emotionally intelligent negotiators achieve the best results as evidenced by several studies. The need to study Emotional Intelligence (IE) arose 30 years ago. However, there are few studies about IE in the negotiations. The most researches emphasized the study of the IE in the negotiations, without understanding in detail the role that each competence or Dimensions of Emotional Intelligence (DIE) (Selfawareness - AC, Self-motivation - AM, Self-regulation - AR, Empathy E, Perception of One's Emotion- PEO), can play. This limitation becomes even more relevant in the context of business negotiations and produces interesting opportunities for this research. According to the recommendation of some scholars, future research can study more the role of IE (Emotional Intelligence) in the Stage of the Negotiation Process (FPN) (1: Pre-negotiation, 2: Relationship, 3: Clarifications, 4: Presentation, 5: Agreement), considering the effect that each DIE can have in these stages. The literature review provided a conceptual model to demonstrate the likely effect between the several DIE in FPN through hypotheses. The lack of consensus among the authors on FPNs led to the emergence of a new model, which was tested in this empirical study, of a qualitative and quantitative nature, aimed at experienced negotiators. The usefulness of FPN was validated by the negotiators. It was identified that each DIE has some effect on the FPN. However, some dimensions have a higher effect on some FPN. The sample showed has a high level of IE. The results may contribute to the hiring of Emotional Intelligence high-level negotiators. Companies can invest in Emotional Intelligent training for negotiators and give more emphasis on specific skill. The negotiator can use specific DIE in each FPN. Future researchers may larger samples.por
