| dc.description.abstract | This internship report is part of the Master’s Degree in Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education and of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education. It was developed with the aim of exploring and analyzing the impact of using active and game-based methodologies in Mathematics teaching. Set against the backdrop of an action-research approach, the project was implemented in a real classroom context across two classes belonging to the 1st and 6th grades. The objective was to understand how the use of innovative resources, namely educational Escape Rooms, didactic games, the GeoGebra software, and manipulative materials, can contribute to increasing students' motivation, autonomy, and meaningful learning. The developed activities, grounded in collaborative learning and with occasional interdisciplinary approaches, sought to go beyond traditional teaching, providing immersive, challenging, and student-centered learning experiences. Through problem-solving, the exploration of mathematical concepts, and the promotion of teamwork, students were encouraged to mobilize essential cognitive and social skills in a participatory and inclusive learning environment. The analysis of the data collected throughout the sessions reveals a positive evolution regarding student engagement, the development of logical reasoning, and the improvement in understanding mathematical content. Based on the results obtained, it is concluded that the integration of active methodologies, highlighting the pedagogical use of Escape Rooms, constitutes an effective strategy to promote more meaningful learning and increase motivation levels in Mathematics teaching in the early cycles of education. Thus, this study aims to contribute to the reflection on contemporary pedagogical practices and the valorization of approaches that favor the active construction of knowledge, collaborative work, and the integral development of students. | eng |
